yeah - kris has plenty of shit to fling if it comes to a real fight! I'd invest in an umbrella. Is that one of your own foxy or did you cut and paste it from stabby? I found that in The Guardian, kris. copy + paste I'm afraid. They must have heard of you.

God, it sounds boring in Indonesia/Bali, loud-mouthed thicko Austrylians eating and drinking. You could have gone to Earl's Court. You could find yourself with Russian wife (Ukraine is a suburb of Russia) and a teenage girl to look after for the next 20 years! Russian women seem OK, very house proud and ambitious, and look after their kids. Why is she alone? Where's her husband? You could end up in a can of dog food! One mistake you should never make is to suggest to a Ukrainian that they are a suburb of Russia. Hell hath no fury to match the fallout that would follow such an insult. Yet they dance to Putin's tune.

As well as my new forum name I am keen to include a funny caption beneath my avatar as other have done. For instance- dogless "never stole a boat" socks "recently grown a pair" naughtyfox "get the fox back in his box" jimriley"if you catch a weasel asleep, piss in its ear!" They are all very amusing though I must confess I haven't a clue what they mean. Has anyone got a suggestion as to what I could use please? Bell End " " Ring my bell or go to Hell! any good?

What a lot of waffle ..even for this forum that thread will take some beating... meanwhile out in the real world I have achieved didderly squat to-day..its freezing cold and daughter decided to show me an alternative walk without huge hills to trudge up as her old dog is struggling now ...however bogland full of horse poo which her young retriever consumes in feast like proportions is nor my idea of a pleasant scenic Sunday stroll...

Spent much of the day being talked through an engine service, very useful and reassuring. Most impressed with the magnet tool finder I got to use everytime I dropped something into the bottom of the engine hole. Now smelling of diesel and oil wearing a ripped pair of jeans (no showers or washing clothes atm due to being very low on water). Slowly turning into a proper boater.....

Do you think you're happy to do a basic service then ... fuel filter's the only tricky part, subject to 'bleeding' mechanism on your boat?
If so it's time and money well spent.

Keep the tanks topped up Its one of life's ironies that there is pressure on water supplies when you are surrounded by the stuff. I know people who use filtration systems for all their domestic water on boats but they are proper boaters and well 'ard as well.

Rog Yep, feel confident now. Bleeding is done by a knob on my boat that you have to pump quite hard. Hardest part now is to find the best oil filters for the boat as the recommended ones would not fit as filter too close to engine bearer.

A large pan with water in on top of the stove is a great idea at this time of year. Hot water for washing up, bathing, or whatever, and at no extra cost. Although at present we've a pan of stew on the stove ... back to water once we've eaten Rog

Bleeding is done by a knob on my boat (me) but it's much much easier with the new Beta 43 than the old lift pump Rog
