There were photos on facebook.
Looked quite substantial and won't be cleared overnight that's for sure.
Glad you got home safely.

Nice picture of Worcester Foxy, but you neglected to post the 'chav alert' for the city. Your standards are slipping.

Hi Paul! Imgur. The table top computer version works fine, the phone app is a bit unclear in that it used to show the photo you want to load, but shows another photo you have already uploaded whilst doing so - it comes out OK though. Also, now I don't understand how to upload photos using Imgur directly (with the phone version), so I 'cheat' by going to the photo in my own gallery and distributing it to Imgur. Imgur doesn't seem to access the gallery any more, so I go the other way round. Thank you Foxy. I will give it a go👍 TapaTalk app on an android phone, view and post on the forum with that and it sorts out the hosting for you. I only use it for posting pics, not general viewing and posting.

Has worked well so far but, as I said, the phone/mobile/app version can be temporarily confusing. It could be because I have a lot of pics uploaded and need to delete many to clear some space. Pics of mine will disappear soon from TB, along with posts, start next weekend (?). No-one reads the old posts, so doubt if anything will be noticeable. Anyway, as we all know, the Chinese are keeping copies of every word ever uttered at their huge Huawei secret headquarters under that mountain. No, not that one, the one to the left of it at 10 O'clock.

Glad you got home safely. At the airport again, 1205 to Kokkola. An hour's drive home at least, via the shop. Home by 1500. Sunny day. Sauna first, to remove the mud of the towpaths! Blimey, that was a busy week, never a dull moment. I was hoping for dull moments as I wanted to improve our A-Z list of Where Fings Are on the boat ( C - candles - red box beside steps, S - string - kitchen drawer 3rd one down, W - water pump spare impeller - in 'miscellaneous' box by steps, B - batteries - grey box on shelves by stove), and go through our food stores, and make a list of my clothes, and paint our new fender washers... Never even found time to change the engine oil, this time.

Kokkola? sounds like a soft drink with a speech impediment.

If that photo is from your phone app, have you managed to reduce the size? I couldn't see how to choose the size (with the table top computer version there is that option) and with the app all my pics here come of 'huge' size. They look OK with a phone, you don't notice, but with the table top they are too big and I have sometimes deleted them all and re-placed (hyphon deliberate grammar freaks) them with smaller versions.

Kokkola? sounds like a soft drink with a speech impediment. It's about 25 minutes from the airport into Kokkola, along Road 8 (after passing the village of Kruunupyy), and then 40 minutes to Himanka. Minus 9 to minus 7 Centigrade. Big road has asphalt showing where tyres have ripped the ice away, smaller roads white from side to side. Has snowed a bit during the past week. Certainly beats driving all the way from Helsinki, 530km. Saves our car's engine too. Our seats in row 5 were right next to the propellers and we thought that if one comes off it'll turn us into minced meat straight away! Only about 1.5 metres away from my face. I am always amazed that when flying and doing 500km/hour your tea sits level in the paper cup and doesn't go sloshing all over the place. ATR - 72

Rog CRT sayeth: "A landslide has caused trees to fall into the canal and block navigation just above Wolverley Locks. As a result, this section of canal will be closed until we are able to remove the trees." Yep - that's where we wuz eating our porridge. Wherever I go, I leave a trail of disaster behind me. We were on the Middlewich Branch June 2017 - think that was a co-incidence?!

"A BURST water main caused a landslide on a road embankment near Kidderminster." Worcestershire County Council says the landslide, off Lea Lane between Wolverley and Cookley, was caused by a burst water main, which washed part of the road into the canal. Several trees and soil beneath the road slipped into the water, leaving a hole under the road surface. Passerby Deanne Bollington said: "We were riding up the canal at about 1.30pm and saw the path was blocked with three or four trees in the canal. It's totally blocking the canal. "We looked up and saw there had obviously been a landslide - about a metre of the ground underneath the road had fallen down. "We called 999 as it could be dangerous but the road was still open when we left." Jon Fraser, of Worcestershire County Council's highways department, said Lea Lane has been closed as a precaution due to some subsidence. He added: "Our highways team are currently carrying out investigations." A spokesman for Worcestershire Canal and River Trust said: "Part of the embankment has come away taking with it a large chunk of soil and several trees. "We need to assess what has happened but we may not get the full picture until next week. "We’ve closed the canal and the local council are on site assessing the road." www.malverngazette.co.uk/news/regional/17470262.video-shows-landslide-into-canal-near-kidderminster/
