Don't remember if I updated but this is the sunflowers this week. We've cut one head off before it got to heavy and landed in next door. Quite a few people want the seeds so the head is drying out. They are fab sunflowers. I went up the 'field of gold' up at the Worms Head(where else?!) ...they were lovely but none so tall. I brought 3 that are still thriving in water but interestingly I keep having to cut them nearer to the head as the water bubbles n ferments....

Cloudy but still and a pleasantly warm morning ...always something sleepy about Sundays. If I awoke after a lengthy coma I'm sure I'd know instantly if it was a Sunday Jane's off for a run, and then we may cruise the short way to Brownsover ... to visit the launderette ... Sunday's as good a day as any. Got a text from my solar installer yesterday confirming everything's in place for the 24th not long now. Rog

Lovely and warm in Cropredy. Our βfestivalβ has been rocking, last day here today. BBQ at friends house and a band playing in the garden. Village has been busy and pubs have had some decent bands playing. All in all a very time had been had.

Nice weather in the southeast so the idiots have turned up on the River.
I ended up having to blast my very loud train horn out of annoyance at the speeders. Also decided against any more involvement with the dodgy chickenhawk as he makes too many compliments and is too dodgy. I think he is known in the area so I don't particularly want to be seen associating with this character.
Anyway I have retreated to the inner east London boat which is MUCH more peaceful and also has a washing machine and a bath.
The River is lovely but I really can't be doing with idiots. Not my cup of tea at all.
Probably be back to normal-ish tomorrow although one of the specific idiots is in one of the motorhomes at the ranch. They have an inflatable with a 25 on it. So they fly around on it being a nuisance. Steve the mooring/rally manager did specifically ask them not to speed past the moored boats but they insist.
Idiots. Sooner gone the better.
I ran out of surface to surface missiles at the regatta and the harpoon gun is for emergency use only.

Bit of a dull day at the gliding club but I took this photo looking back from above the summit of Cairngorm, Loch Avon can just be glimpsed in the foreground, Loch Etchachan behind. Still a little bit of snow around on north facing slopes, even though itβs mid august!

Today it's sunny and I have been dragged to the beach by a 3yr old, far to many people aboutπ·. I would rather be sitting in the van being a GOG. On a scale of 1-10 representing Hell this is 11 Still at least the internet is better hereπ

We got the laundry done (yeay ) and realised we'd still not eaten and as it was 2pm we were starving. Called at the Steam Turbine pub but there was a 45 min wait for meals. So we ended up at McD's ... quick and easy but I'm not really a fan. Having said that we'd ordered, paid and eaten within thirty minutes, so job done ... and their coffee isn't bad at all. This afternoon Jane showed me St Michael and All Angels Church (decommissioned) hidden away ... but it was locked. Designed by Sir George Gilbert Scott, grandfather of Sir Giles Gilbert Scott (designer of phone boxes and new Bodlian library). Shopping and charity shop trawling tomorrow Rog

I really like sunflower seeds. when I was little my mum used to buy them for general use in things like salads. I would always find the container and eat the lot. She ended up having to hide them because I had such a voracious appetite for them.
That and grapes. Sunflower seeds and grapes.
