Interesting morning on the estuary on the kayak with the baited feathers. Had 2 (sea) lesser weevers. Highly poisonous are these, flicked them off in the water with some long nosed pliers. The had a lovely (sea) tub gurnard, must have been close to 2 pounds. Apparently these are good eating but it was an attractive fish, I felt sorry for it, so let it go. All was well until the prick who owns the ferry boat chose having a chat and a laugh rather than look where he was going. I was drifting slowly up the estuary with the tide. It would have taken him no effort to deviate away from me but no, he held his course. I had to paddle away at the last minute. Had it out with him when I got back, he said he had priority. Bollocks, no one has the right to hold their course and plough into a drifting boat that's not under power. Nothing that a midnight cruise and (say) a 2" auger drill wouldn't sort out...

No idea why, but that reminded me of the old commando comics I used to read as a kid, my dad used to buy them each month and leave them on the dining room table.. happy days

A lovely sunny morning, not a cloud in the sky ....... but bloomin' chilly !!! the central heating is on and porridge for breakfast !!!
It's still August but it feels more like the back end of September early October this morning !!!
Still, the sun should warm the place up soon and hopefully we are in for a good day when I can do some outside work !!!

Seen as my burner isn’t installed at the moment.

Sat in my shorts and t shirt drinking coffee and it's 17 degrees in here. A grey overcast morning but still and peaceful. I'm sure at home I'd have flicked the heating on ... my tolerance on the boat seems far greater. Not worth lighting a fire as it'll be too hot later, so just accept it and get dressed if I'm not warm enough. Need to look at replacing our Alde central heating next year ... the boiler being bust and obsolete ... but that's for another day. Coach line painting today (after Jane's run and my exercises) and then a walk to Bedworth Rog

Have you had anyone look at it?
There is not a lot to them and spares are still available on the web

A job for next year Dave.
Apart from on returning to the boat in January,to quickly warm it up , we never use the heating ... but working and unused is preferable to broken. Next years project to discuss practical alternative systems for this boat, costs etc.
