My most memorable Halloween was years ago in the mid eithties being driven back to our country house in Sussex in the evening. It was dark. There was a large hay barn on fire near the road. Big fire it was so I asked my dad what had happened. He said "someone probably didn't give a treat to the trickle treaters so they burned his barn down !"
Always stuck with me that memory for some reason.
Amazingly interesting isn't it.

Parents in Beverley have long warned their children not to approach the boat where the evil troll lives. PS a boozer in Beverley came 30th on the best UK gastropub awards.

Bloody Hell .... that must make it the very best one in the whole of East Yorks ..... are you sure you haven't missed a zero off the end ?

Ready for another eight hours at the factory and have just covid tested (doing it twice a week at present) and am negative again. I am persuaded I need to be upbeat and positive, and to try and enjoy whatever comes my way ... so that's the plan. Off to work with a smile Rog

Proper crap day in Beduff, looks to be wet all day.
House viewing at 10, decided to pull out the other house, too small and I wasn’t getting a great feeling about it, this one is bigger and three bed, we shall see.
No movement on the tub sale, had a bloke look the other night who seemed keen and said he would speak to the bank and be I touch, nothing yet, have a women looking Sunday, thinking if it doesn’t shift in November I’ll put it in springwood as they offering free mooring whilst on brokerage, end of the day I don’t have accept a sale if it’s low and can also still advertise myself, pull it out if I get an offer to save the 5%
Off out tonight so no need to hide from the door knocking

Door knocking? - have you turned into a Jehovah witness? lol
That's a good thing about being on the boat behind marina security ... none of that crap. AND tomorrow night, I'm off to see fascinating Aida in Stoke with my oldest friend Helen. I wish she was a man cause we are perfect together. grrr
Cheers btw Twerp for the offer on my pity party thread about coming out on the lash... much apprecaited but it would clash with Strictly ;-)

Now have three people booked to look at tub tomorrow, fingers crossed one of them bring a bag of swag.
House viewing earlier was disappointing, house was very nice on the surface but if you know where to look then you see the real house, old boiler, old rads, double glazing showing signs of needing replacement, front door had a bit of bowing going on, opened a kitchen cupboard and could see the wall behind which looked shocking.
They had over 15 viewings booked though this morning, not a lot out there and people are taking the piss.

Anyway I finally managed to enclose the toilet and shower compartment suitably securely. Not to everyone's taste but This really speaks to my design language. A bit of a random selection of parts to form a partition but it works. Access to the compartment is via the louvred door and the short nature of the bit of decking allows the Davey light to share it's luminosity with the otherwise rather dark compartment. Useful accidental design. I was particularly pleased to have a powder keg in the boat at last, which is not a woman, and the beer keg once hacked about will be a nice storage facility for some toys. Cut a hole around the top fitting with a jigsaw. You end up with a hole about 6 inches across. Line the rough edge with split thin rubber hose then it's safe for hands. The powder keg had a 130ft hot air balloon rope in it which is now being used for other internal decorations. I need to work on the washing machine and drier as they are godawful ugly things. I did wonder about just painting them black ! The slightly untidy hanging wires are for controlling the downlights. My design language has indicated I must arrange for a scaffold pole to come downwards from the deckhead behind the fire and have a 3 way light switch mounted onto it. I'll use a key klamp 4 bolt base socket bolted to a piece of hardwood which will be screwed to the deckhead lining for this I think, for a nice secure fixture as the pole will not extend to the cabin sole level.

You should put that bucket away before taking photos, simple changes go a long way.

I subscribe to the bucket philosophy. There are around 15 buckets on this boat.
Most of life's problems can be solved by using buckets.
You would be surprised how useful a simple bucket can be in unusual circumstances such as having to store large quantities of tinned fish purchased during a pre-armageddon pandemic test.
Eta you obviously missed the buckets located under the orange futon sitting plank !
Wickes have recently had in stock some very nice non-ribbed smooth buckets for £1 each of which I have recently purchased 25.
I was glad I did as the latest batch they have are the ribbed type and they are aesthetically far less pleasing from a design language point of view.
