Rice is very cheap when bought in bulk. One 10kg bag is enough food to live on for a month. Rice is very good at resolving the satiety issue, and also seems to regulate digestion remarkably well. But things can get a bit repetitititive. However, given the long shelf life, it seems to be a good thing to keep some on hand.

But you do have to vary the flavorings to stop it getting too monotonous.

Maybe black-eyed peas...but then again I am quite fond of the cheapest garden peas one finds in the freezer section.

I believe it would have no effect on GRP, but it is quite aggressive with some substances; I have heard it has the potential to melt tarmac...however with some light agitation it may do the trick. It can be hard on skin. Wear gloves and have a good supply of water to rinse off. The molecules are quite stringy.

Yes rice and peas are good. I don’t have your personal loathing of kidney beans or black beans, but chick peas are my favorite. Chick pea curry with some lovely fluffy basmati rice, what’s not to like?

Personally I say you can't beat a lamb curry. But I knew some vogons once, and chick pea curry was a fairly frequent menu item. It's ok; I would say there can be a severe wind issue, possibly measurable on the Beaufort scale, but hey ho. Hummus I sort of like but it's a bit bland. I have been contemplating adding chilli, perhaps. Or maybe hot mango chutney.

Breakfast butties in the caravan site cafe were jolly good. We had a walk along the Buckingham arm to Old Stratford, which despite its name looks all very new. The canal is cut off by the A5 with no trace on the other side of that road, just new housing and retail buildings. Pleasant walk never the less on a lovely day. Rog

I wouldn’t do a lamb curry, but a goan fish curry now that’s a different story. I think regards wind and beans, it depends on what your digestive system is used to.

One of the kids discovered that if you choose the text suggested word while writing a text message it gets really funny..
They go into loops and mine ended up 'I don't know what to do with the kids, I don't know what to do with the kids, I don't know what to do with the kids, I don't know what to do with the money. So I started a new message with the word Boat and it said 'Boat trip to the pub in the morning'.

Pleasant walk never the less on a lovely day. Rog That towpath looks a bit uneven to me, Jane wants to be careful that she doesn't *ahem* "fall over".
