I like the idea that the company shares the profits ... a simple enough idea but personally we've never encountered this with any other company ππ» Rog Coop shops.

Just checked my emails and this arrived yesterday too.
"Postcode Lottery Ltd has sent you Β£10.00 GBP. Note from Postcode Lottery Ltd: Congratulations. You have won a Peopleβs Postcode Lottery Prize! Win from Peopleβs Postcode Lottery".
So I'm thinking good luck comes in threes and waiting eagerly for the third thing!

Quite glorious today. There was a fair bit of rain but it does not seem to be impacting the River too much.
So it should be ok. I've changed my routines I am now cruising about rather than being stuck under a dodgy looking old beech tree. Which is nice !
Its good to get a bit of the River scene rather than being in a backwater.

Lovely day and a terrific cruise. Moored at Apsley and had a walk in to Hemel Hempsted Town centre ... amazingly our first visit for some reason. Not a bad town centre on a sunny day. However the roundabout consisting of six mini roundabouts sited on a single large roundabout blew my mind ... traffic flying about everywhere ... horns blaring, near misses, best show in town π€£ Rog

We were stuck there below Boxmoor lock during the Foot and Mouth outbreak. My mother had her own Boat and I had mine. I sometimes think that spending the time between 20 and 30 yars old traveling about on a Boat with no house could be quite a significant event. I tried settling with the Woman and my offspring units but it did not work. Nomad. Better than Non Mad.

Work over for another week and a long weekend ahead. Payday next Friday which is always good, did a fair bit of overtime in May too.
Not much planned for the weekend although I'm maybe going to change the cooker gas hose. Might turn the boat depending on the weather.

I finally got around to a bit of internal decoration rearranging and I realised this paddle was worth putting in as a centrepiece. This was the paddle I used for the 2001 full descent of the amazon river in 2001/02. It was an arduous adventure and very sadly the Boat itself did not survive as it was torn to pieces by violent rapids early during the attempted ascent. I. and the paddle thankfully did survive. Vicious old river that one. More observant types will notice the varnish was all stripped away and mild damage to the leading edge. Quite shocking in a number of different ways. Worse things happen at sea.

Sadly the camera used to take the pictures was also lost during the Terrible Accident which also killed my life long friend El Cuadrito. Great paddler he was. Very reliable and always remained in his own box. I have his paddle as well and will be mounting it beneath the other shortly.
It is square at the end not round.

This is El Quadrito's paddle. I just display the end as dealing with the whole thing is too traumatic. One day I will deal with this and move on but for now I keep his paddle hidden and generally try to ignore it. Until now. O M G !

No wonder you failed in your quest. You cant have a rounded paddle and a square paddle on oposite sides of the boat, you will just go around in waves. Idiots!
RIP El Cuadrito.

We had a one sided Boat all quite technical but works really well if you know how. He was the lead paddler.

Would that be a half sunken boat?

It was a rare and highly prized dugout.
The paddles are made from Brazilian Choratel wood. Highly prized by women for making soup ladles.
