Dhal, a staple in India, especially in the north where it's usually eaten with chapati. Fantastic.

Every single transport company in Rugby needs drivers. Mugs who are prepared to do the job are in very short supply, kids nowadays have got more sense. Sill done, superb job, you can't see where the panel was welded in. Sill looks very smart. Does that mean you'll have to start working if you move to a new employer ? Rog The super easy doss of a job we had has come to an end so I'm having to do a bit more work anyway. I'm not particularly bothered about that though, just this epod thing that I can't get my head around to the point where it is causing me angst. I might go back to work at Sarval, the animal rendering place next to the Coventry Canal at Hartshill, that's easy work and a lot more money than I earn now, they struggle to get drivers more than most because it's pretty gross work, big plastic dolav boxes of pigs' heads and lambs' intestines etc from abattoirs. Doesn't bother me though, and they'd have me back any time.

Guaranteed no "tittyfucking mess" she suggests.
I'm quite disappointed 😊
Rog
(She suggests wind may be an issue ... but I think that's lentils for you)

I was advised once by someone to have a staple diet. So I went to WH Smith and bought some. Tried them in cabbage soup but they got stuck in my throat.

In other news I solved two significant problems today. First one was how to steer the launch (9ft wide with an open 'cruiser style' deck and a steering stick. Answer was to tape a piece of broom handle to the end and do a 90 degree stick then sit in the chair I found in the River.
Second problem was how to stop the floating electric beer drinking platform which is 18ft long swinging out at the wrong moment when waiting for locks. I found quite a long fishing rod in the River and after strapping it to the starn rail in line I was able to tie the end to the said floating electric beer drinking platform and it became compliant and caused no issues at all.
Good Day was had. Now moored on a small unadopted island.
Things can't only get better.

I was vegi for over 8 years, but was lured back to meat by the scent of pork roasting...my favourite meat.I still like vegi food & will often choose the veg option when eating out if it sounds like they've put the effort in.My first veg cookbook was Cranks & I actually ate at a London Cranks restaurant back in the late 80s/early 90s.Even now when I enjoy meat,I still have spicy bean buggers & cauliflower cheese buggers in the freezer.😋😋 Plus most curries I make are veg as we decided meat wasn't needed !

Pleasant cruise but no room at Rickmansworth (other than a boat length completely covered by tree foliage that we didn't fancy) so we stopped on the Tesco mooring for a (very late 1.45pm) breakfast.
Much restored (and with no boat movement) we headed off again at 3pm.
As luck would have it we spotted a suitable mooring above Batchworth lock opposite the end of the permanent moorings, and on piling too. Nice and open and light 👍
To be honest this is the first day we've not been able to moor where we'd hoped, which is pretty good, so no complaint.
We'll skip the laundry though at Ricky, try Kings Langley instead.

Peak District trip definitely off now, Charlie is still planning to come up though and wants to visit the National Motorcycle Museum so we'll do that on Sunday. Saturday I want to pump out the engine keep-all which is easier with a helping pair of hands. I had a leak from the rocker gasket after I changed it because I didn't tighten the cover down enough being cautious about over-tightening it, something known the deform them. Also a bit of water gets in there from the stern tube.

I like lentils but I don't care for them much. Right. The idea is to find ways of combining lentils, fairly dull and not entirely palatable, with other things. If you give it one of your really big thinks the light may dawn.
