My heart goes out to Nick for having to steer the boat and operate the locks instead of spending all day sitting by the stove watching the telly.

... But Jeff will still cook dinner at the end of the day.... No this is the worst part - for the last 2 weeks Iβve had to do ALL the cooking, washing up, shopping, tidying, gardening, fetching of pills and cushions etc etc. Today I had to do all the driving from Aberdeen to Fazeley, load and unload the car AND make the G&T and cook the dinner. i mean, what is the point of having a husband and still having to do all that yourself?

Best wishes to Jeff - cracked a rib myself last year which makes boating a bit challenging and know what he's going through - minus the hospital visit. Please keep us updated on your itinerary/progress as I am currently in your preferred vicinity and would appreciate advance warning as to which waterpoint to avoid, just in case. Thanks, he has been pretty miserable, 2 weeks of not being able to do anything and being in constant pain.

We've decided on plan B-we're heading for the Caldon ! We're sat in Middlewich at the moment & will probably move tomorrow as it's absolutely chucking it down.π§π§Tomorrow's weather looks better... The Lanky just seems too risky, don't like the idea of being stuck there. I would send big hugs to Jeff, but that would probably hurt !

Bit of a shame although the Caldon is lovely.

Cloudy but dry morning.
Hope the sun shows up later, like it did yesterday but forecast suggests a wet and cloudy week.

Sunny in Fazeley but heavy showers forecast later. A day to wash the boat I think, it is boggin after the winter as we didnβt wash it on our previous 2 short visits this year. Poor Telemachus has been rather neglected as Jeff has been super-busy with his MA.

Cloudy, no rain as yet. Today I am going to make a dedicated parking area for the Vespa.

Dry but looks a bit dodgy outside.
Should be alright. Not moving the launch today. Its less windy. The wind has been crazy recently.
One suspects that policymakers don't fully understand the outcomes of wind farms. If you farm cows you get more cows. Same with the wind.

Speaking of wind production ...
I'm going to make onion bhajis today for the first time, as Jane's making a 'Spice Tailer' Fiery Goan curry for dinner.
We shall see π€

I remember a Boat called Onion Bargee.
Such a clever bit of word play. I am always impressed when people come up with something so original.
A Boat on GU could be called Union Bargee.

Four Onion Bargees listed on the gazetteer.
I can certainly recall a couple.
Also a few Argy Bargys too.

Adenuff was an immensely clever one too.
Bloke was called Adrian!

Adenuff was an immensely clever one too. Bloke was called Adrian! Went to B & Q in Coventry (although strictly speaking there isn't a B & Q in Coventry) and got half-a-dozen paving slabs and some mortar. Laid the parking area for the Vespa. Much, much easier to pull it back over the slabs than it was the aggregate. Other than that didn't do a lot. Was going to go to the Nepalese grocery in Nuneaton to get some Mogu Mogu but in the end I couldn't be arsed. Watching ladies tennis on TV at the moment. You know the rest.
