We timed our return north well. Left Fazeley in warm sunshine, no rain on the long drive north until one light shower about 15 miles from home. But looking at the weather radar it was chasing us up the country. We beat it.

Been back at work for a year this week, first time I've worked a whole year since I've (not) owned the boat. It's been different working through the Summer but nowhere near as difficult as I thought it would be. And at least I won't have to spend three days weeding the mooring this week.
Ever darker mornings and evenings are pissing me off a bit now.
Still nothing happening with the Scoopy's V5C. Useless sheep-shagging, daffodil-munching wasters.
Sam the Rentboy visiting this weekend. Not sure what we are doing, a bit weather-dependent really.

I wonder how Mr Stabby went on at work today ? Horrible south of Nottingham this afternoon. Don't care about rain, it's high winds which are always the problem, not just when driving but opening trailer curtains, rear doors etc. Very easy to get hurt.

It was grim driving back to Warwick ... headlights on from about 4pm ... biblical rain, black skies and just horrible.
We're home on Saturday and start work Tuesday according to the rota.
Lovely on board with fire going ... Saturday looks good weather wise 👍🏻
Hope you and the 'rent boy' have a good weekend.

Seems to be getting interesting further up the River. Various red flood warnings or tributaries.
I had a very lucky escape.
A piece of dead ash which I had cut ages ago and brought into the Boat would not fit in the fire so I went outside and split it. Sometimes I split dry stuff inside.
Anyway it came apart and there were dozens of red ants with eggs.
I was glad to see them scurry away and find alternative lodgings.
Red ant infestation would be unideal.
No sign of any in here.
In other firewood news there is some ash which was felled by the land owners after a tree survey which I have been licensed to cut up. Some of it is a little large for the baby chainsaw but we'll get there.
Ash seer or green its all fit for the queen.
Ash wood wet or ash wood dry a king shall warm his slippers by.
