Seems to be a bit of a pattern here. Anti volunteer full stop. Whilst being inclined to accept not all are perfect, you nick seem to have the ability to find all the bad ones. Perhaps all is not as it seems, and a little bit of Fincher creep has corrupted your own imagination.

I suppose I should remember that reading and comprehension has always been your weak point.

The fact you then attempt to undermine my view only serves to highlight your own issues.

Is that a bit like an optional comma?

Telemachus later had a love affair with the volunteer lock keeper in question. It was all quite amicable.

I'm puzzled, did I miss why you deleted the opening remark that created this thread, thread created by Telemachus but the first remark is by Kris? It’s explained further into the thread.

Anyway, I think she was probably “alright” but I do wish people wouldn’t shout orders at random strangers, panic mode or not. I’m sure she wouldn’t like it if I did that to her, and that surely is the relevant test of behaviour. Thinking about it, I have been boating since late 1960s and, as far as I can remember, I have never shouted at anybody to “SLOW DOWN”.

Doesn't sound like the 2 experienced, confident ladies I know.Am also intrigued as to where she/they were going as the boats aren't due to go anywhere.Maybe it was someone new getting some experience...or she'd heard all about you.😆😆😆

Maybe she was stealing it? Could easily have been Rog’s sister, there was some family resemblance. But something was going on as another workyboatthingy was heading into Brum, visible in the distance as we turned into the loop. As we got 3/4 way round the loop it appeared coming the other way. We avoided panic and shouting “SLOW DOWN” even though this was unexpected. 3 blokes on the back, looked like volunteers.
