I posted a picture of the boat from Facebook on here where it was witnessed and on that thread the boater admitted it. Cheers yes I went to their FB page and found it. A lot of 'interesting' comments, hence my 'trial by facebook comment'. I clocked it off the narrowboat owners group. The funny thing is they were all going mental that they could have drained the entire flight by leaving the gates open. You would have had a field day with some of the stupid points.

The 'Carla Boo' issue was all over face book the day it happened, along with reports that C&RT had been notified of their actions. You can enter the Wigan flight at 8.30am and moor in one of the long pounds if you wish to take your time ... but wouldn't want to personally. A wide beam did just that the day before our descent ... understand they had youth annoyance issues during the evening, but no actual damage. Timeout made a post thanking the WFC ... whether they were directed here or 'cut and pasted' here ... they were appreciative of assistance. I have met many, many boaters who appreciated the help of the WFC. Telemachus is the only boater I am aware of who complained about their actions. I am not impuning in any way Telemachus 's justified complaint ... however it does seem extraordinarily unfair to continue to berate the WFC and in particular leyther who was not even on duty the day of telemachus's transit. Unless someone can show otherwise, the opening/closing times are at the behest of C&RT ... volockies were introduced by C&RT, they are not an invading foreign force. I suspect no one will agree with me and leyther will continue to get a good kicking. Sorry leyther ... 90 % plus satisfaction rate cuts no ice here I'm afraid Rog I certainly don't feel I am getting a kicking. I am quite amused though at some of the misinformed opinions and conclusions drawn on here.

We left booby traps for you in Banbury By the way, Cotton Clouds is a good launderette, service wash there. Meanwhile.... bed calls.... and hopefully, an uncomplicated day tomorrow. Today & yesterday were quite bizarre - so much has changed, new kids, other kids are a year older so they have longer school days, picking-up and dropping-off pattern is so different. And yesterday a Western Capercaillie flew into the side of my bus - I stopped later to look for a dent, it was a bloomin' great thump. It had been raining and the side of the bus was wet - and stuck to the side was one feather, which I now have in an envelope. I was looking for it on the return journey but some other sod must have picked it up for their Christmas lunch. one of these things.

Since vol lockies have been introduced I have no negative feelings about them, our locks are big and if single handed take a lot of effort, a lock manned by one of these guys means mu passage is quicker and more important safer, long may they continue.

The teacup's fine ... the storms moved on Rog Okay I'll leave you to it. I must say after the vol lockie posting on here, you can see why Nick and himself didn't get on. Six of one and half a dozen of the other comes to mind.
