Stand by for the license terms one is forced to agree with to change. Just remember you only agree to them under duress. indeed, I always make the point when I phone to renew it. I did say "forced" in the post you quoted ^ but it can't be said too often. ...stand by for maggot to ramble on about displaying licenses.

I have no idea, I thought you may have asked the reason why when discussing it with them hence my question. I only know what I've been told, but I know it happened. I wasn’t doubting that it had happened, more curious as mine runs out about 3 months into my licence year, and I was wondering if I could expect problems when I renew.

Not really a problem for you as you're now pre warned and know how to deal with it? The problem is that a lot of people will just assume CRT are correct and do as they're told, then before you know it it'll be accepted practice. Creeping control freakery.
