Much similar to what Patrick Moore of greanpeace stated. I posted an article about it on here last year with a link. Depending how John v's memory is holding up today, he might recall reading it, as he commented after doing so. Who ? me ? what day is it ? ........ I do remember. All the glitterati scream about how good they are (buying massive ridiculously fast all electric cars ..... that have consumed more in their manufacture and produced more pollution than the average Joe's little diesel banger will contribute during it's total life) So far I have yet to hear anybody giving a sensible route by which the human contribution to (yes, I do agree) an already existing trend of warming can be reduced. Yet again nobody seems to willing to face the elephant in the room ...... which is that the human population level is way, way, too high. Even if people think of a solution, nobody will mention it, as it would be instant political suicide. The planet will win. Disaster, plague, pandemic, comet, crop failure, war, infertility. One or more will more than decimate the population, needs to be around one tenth of present day.

Over Christmas indulged in a couple of bottles of extremely good Yorkshire wine !!! (not going to name it until I have laid in a case or two) So Global warming is not all bad news (for Yorkshire anyway)

As I have said before, it is not normal to have ice on the poles of the Earth. 4 times in 4,500,000,000 years. Why aren't 'climate protestors' running around turning 2 kilowatt fan heaters on to 'save the planet'?

I thought that I would live to be old but I am not so sure of that now, I think a lot more of the low lying islands/shores will start to go under the seas and maybe then people will realise that we are supposed to look after the planet because if we dont we will be washed away

Perhaps 'the Isle of Sheffield' will have a coastline such as to provide natural harbours for boats like yours?
The Isle of Great Gable.
Kinder Scout Island.
The Cheviot Isles.

People will migrate, adapt or die as they always have in their very brief period of inhabiting the very, very old earth. Rog

Why aren't 'climate protestors' running around turning 2 kilowatt fan heaters on to 'save the planet'? err ................ there have been about 10 separate periods totalling more than 700 million years when there were ice caps at the poles and in some cases the whole planet was a 'snowball'. it would be correct to say 'it is not abnormal'. www.newscientist.com/article/dn18949-the-history-of-ice-on-earth/

Well, when I studied Geology it was 4 ice ages. I think the New 'Scientist' have embellished the facts somewhat.
Here's a cheerful video:

The weather is all wrong and getting worse we had another of those once in a 10 year floods 12 years after the last! the weather now is far warmer than it should in your case 25 degrees wrong, if you want to bury your head in the snow and go la la feel free but years ago a climate change scientist told me they wernt having children because they wouldnt have a future! Looks like they were right

exactly.
and quite apart from the misery they may have to inherit, another child just adds to the global population, and thereby worsens the situation unless he/she grows up to be a big mover and shaker in the environmental campaign.
