Nothing to do with boating! (Well, there's a chain ferry and a rowing boat). Just some clips I filmed at normal speed on last week's trip by car to the Kainuu region, north-west Finland. Video is 4:22 minutes long. If the subtitles don't appear, click on the little cc icon at the bottom right and choose 'ON': Very nice!

Just had a nice walk up to the newly reopened library in Tarleton, I believe in using these services to ensure they remain open. I stumbled upon an interesting book in the cookery section that brought back many happy memories of Sunday lunchtimes in the early seventies at my Nanaβs house! Fantastic.π That book would be just the thing for ianali 's boat. Rog

This afternoon after work I went for an hour to film the Sokoja route, which certainly looks like it will be fun in winter. A new driver who is rather nice and friendly and easy-going... he had a barney with a tractor this morning, and the tractor's skid marks are quite plain to see on that corner at 2:02 (although the YouTube video quality makes them unclear).

I'll put these in here - what I got up to in my lunch break, and after work. Someone might be interested. It's not something you see every day. And, I bet, never, ever filmed at all. Could be handy for route-learning.

Actually, this isn't so much 'random' but part of a sequence. What I did in my lunch break. I'm not sure why. I also went to film route PY16 BODΓ after work but that didn't happen for various reasons, I just got to sit as a passenger and have a look at the route again through my own eyes. Could be handy when/if I have to drive it.
Next week I have to learn the Kannus routes (hah! easy! my old turf!)... I wonder if I'll get the opportunity to film those... anyway, bagged eight out of nine routes since last Monday, fairly pleased with myself for the effort.
Here's Route 3 Bus Station - Halkokari - RytimΓ€ki, and back (returns along the same route after Halkokari school):

Im still in awe at how those beasts could grow so big and I never tire of seeing them.....Truly fascinating! π

It's funny how I could put up with the BBC K&A canal boat All aboard! and the equally riveting Sleigh Ride!
Foxy's route recce? Not so much.
Here are the speed limtied WRC lads having a nose around Finland 18 years ago. At least the cars are interesting π
