But I did think froggy's idea had merit - I can just ramble along to myself in this thread, and no need to bother anyone else with my inane drivel. Those who are interested are welcome to pop in, those who wish to avoid me don't need to visit this thread.

Here's something random, so my kitty litter box is the right place to put it. For anyone who might be interested. I wanted to have another look as to how things look using my camera's timelapse function and driving back to work at lunchtime, and driving empty from Eskola back to Kannus, was a good opportunity to see how driving shots look. It's a little camera so I don't have much control over settings. If you let the timelapse setting run to its end, and not turn it off mid-way, each clip will come out as a 20-second clip. First I tried the 5-minute setting, so here we have 5 minutes squished into 20 seconds, and that seems like the more pleasant speed - everything is running 15 times faster than normal. Then I tried the 10-minute setting and let that run to its end, although here the speed would be lower as I was driving slower than in Clip 1 (icy stretches). Clip 3 is at the 30-minute setting and the drive was around 15 minutes along the main Kajaani - Kannus road, so it came out as 10 seconds instead of the usual 20; you can see I had to wait about a minute and a half at a junction (which comes out as about 1 second!). Just getting in some practice and thinking of ideas how to use this function for making a video for when we're on our hols in Englandshire. I already have the music in mind. Time for me to sign out. I've loaded one new video to YouTube and that should be ready for viewing tomorrow, and am uploading another now, which I can show on Sunday. Just experimental clips, playing with the timelapse function on my camera. I think now I have a pretty good idea how to use this now, so it's just a matter of thinking of suitable subjects for the video I intend to make of our next trip. It has been fun, but you can over-do it. I have always liked videos made cleverly but I never went down that route of film making, and anyway it would be too stressful - I think a lot of the effort artists make goes unnoticed and unappreciated.
When I say 'cleverly' I mean things like this: on a TV programme about railways a video camera was placed on top on the Blue Train's front engine/locomotive (Cape Town to Johannesburg) so that when it went into a tunnel it filmed the pantograph going down; the next clip was the train coming out of the tunnel into the daylight and the pantograph rising again (as the overhead wires are lower in the tunnel than outside). There is a skill to making the right kind of videos and joining them up. I am often in awe at how movies/films have been made, the filming angles and how the music is fitted in, usually with a deliberate motive to give effect.

So here's your dose of anti twaddle dully fail medicine, morningstaronline.co.uk/article/b/anti-racists-call-on-johnson-to-take-action-against-tory-mpANTI-RACISTS called on Prime Minister Boris Johnson to take urgent action today against a Tory MP who appears to “move closely” with supporters of Adolf Hitler. Bishop Auckland MP Dehenna Davison was photographed with Andrew Foster, a well-known far-right activist in the local area, at a party she organised to celebrate Brexit on January 31. The 26-year-old won the seat on a 17 per cent swing from Labour’s Helen Goodman in December 2019, and is a prominent face among the new intake of Tory MPs. Mr Foster has attended rallies organised by the far-right street groups Britain First and the English Defence League, Hope Not Hate investigators revealed today. A Twitter account allegedly belonging to Mr Foster wished Hitler a happy birthday, referring to him as a “great man”, while he appeared to comment on a photograph of the nazi leader on Facebook: “We need some more of this spirit in our town… show these f***ers once and for all.” The group also unearthed Facebook pictures of Mr Foster burning a copy of the Quran, and posing next to a racist message that reads “F*CK P*KIS.” Concerns have also been raised over Ms Davison’s contact with Colin Raine, a former Tory council candidate who organised a far-right protest in Bishop Auckland against Ms Goodman.

It's peculiar, Jim, how this current Nazi Conservative Brexit-supporting government made up of uncouth Neanderthals are getting into bed with the Chinese Communists. Just like Hitler and Stalin. With the current clampdown on free speech*, where will all this be leading? *"Police have recorded 120,000 cases of 'non-crime' hate incidents - despite accepting they are not illegal - as judge warns of chilling effect on free speech as he slams 'Gestapo' police who quizzed businessman over 'transphobic tweets" www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-8006275/Police-record-120-000-cases-non-crime-hate-incidents.html

I haven't really followed the News and don't know anything about Dominic 'Cummings' (snigger!). Certainly can't be any worse than Theresa May the EU-appeaser. I wonder if the old bag is still claiming a salary and expenses at the UK taxpayers' cost, when she should really be in prison for her traitorous actions.

Yes, I think everyone has had enough of 'Labour'. We've got the Conservatives and that's that. All the other parties are wishy-washy. The Conservatives have the money and know how to use it to stay in control. They are bullies, thieves and liars - but they're on top now, and what is anybody going to do about it? Answer - nothing much.
