sorry, what I should have explained is that I don't know what "mcb" stands for [weep] neither did I think its a blokey thing...aah I see it is...Miniature Circuit Breaker....

MCB = miniature circuit breaker. Protects against over-current RCD = residual current device. Protects against current leaking to earth (maybe via a human). RCBO = residual current circuit breaker with overcurrent (a combination of an RCD and a MCB in one “thing”)

Bit like SG and sg (Smartgauge and specific gravity).

OK, UPDATE electrician number 7 proved to be 'the one'. He removed the three small panels, and built a frame for the two x 275watt panels, connected all bits and pieces, breaker, 50 amp fuse. I have never used engine to charge batteries since then, brilliant.# Sold old system for £45
