There's little to visit for ... which is why, I guess the visits are tumbling ... or was that a polite way of suggesting I go elsewhere @froggy ? Rog

Week six and this place is beginning to grind to a halt. I would have expected it to be busier with the increase in uncommitted time, but day by day we seem to lose more and more visitors, guests or members. Rog Maybe we've all blocked eachother. Actually, although I think blocking people is a bit pointless I did try blocking Foxy to see what would happen, strangely all his posts kept coming through still. ....maybe THAT'S the problem!

It's very difficult to write boating posts when you can't go boating. and I've never been in to posting pictures of my dinner.
This afternoon I might have a look through my trip photos and try and write something that might interest people

The Corona discussions were interesting as things developed but now we're all on hold in a protracted "wait and see" situation? There's bugger all else in the news to set people thinking on common ground, no sport, no people trafficking, no pollution, no trains or traffic to moan about... Thumb twiddling time. I don't exactly wish the days away, but I'm finding it harder to work up enthusiasm for the limited stuff I can do. Life's getting a bit repetitive at the moment though in desperation I've been doing a few things I'd been putting off because they are dull things that require starting and keeping going but no thinking. Yawn. I'll be pleased when things liven up a bit TBH.

With no boating going on for the foreseeable future, especially with the canals falling into disrepair, we are left with these subjects for conversation: 1. Tim Martin is a bastard. 2. Boris is the greatest Hero the nation has ever seen. 3. Social distancing in supermarkets vs social distancing on Brighton beach. 4. Your plans for today (none).

Cross posted with you saying much the same but I'm so bored I turned it into two paragraphs. One reason for less TB for me is I sit here like I am now and I'm thinking I should turn the flippin computer off and do something useful. I get as far as turning it off and then whether I do anything else or just read a book I think my soul is better for it.

I would imagine it's pretty much the same on football/ Formula 1/ tourism forums etc etc etc.

Yep - I think we are all in that state now... I'm usually a self starter (no sniggers please) but for the first time I can remember - I find getting out of bed on a morning a bit pointless ... and can't WAIT to get back into it each day for a break from the tedium.
I've done chores all ruddy winter long so really a side from a full repaint (which is not gonna happen) there is bugger all left to do - I've even scraped the bottom of the barrel by cleaning and painting my drains at the stern. The ONLY thing I've not gotten around to (yet) is climbing inside the gas locker and giving that another coat of yellow hammerite - AND tha'ts gonna have to wait as my back is rather bad atm.
TV is dreary - news is just repetitive - I've lost "trust" in the BBC totally... I'm even sick of walking - which usually I enjoy ... but even WITH company, when you've nothing to talk about or unable to actually "plan" next steps/chugs, it's all rather pointless.
I suppose I could post some photos of when I was young and sexy for stabby... I had a very subtle six pack once you know... let me dig it out and share it 'somehow"

Here you go... I was young and sexy ..... once upon time... ironically, at the time, I had no idea it would soon fade away lol. Edited to add- THAT level of low body fat (11 % from memory) took an AWFUL lot of maintenance... and once I'd found "gin" the decline was inevitable :-(

Strange to say, I am finding the opposite at the moment, with more and more things to do swelling up, and I was a bit shocked to see that work might be starting again Wednesday after next and free time is running out. I have started sorting out my photos from 2015 to 2019 and labelling them, explanations for each photo being typed up. We have trees to cut down and carry home, and saw up at home. I have the winter wheels of our car to wash. Bicycle trips to make - too cold for now (snow everywhere this morning). Walking trips - already some in mind, but, again, a bit too nippy to enjoy being outside. Car stand area to be painted. Trailer to be painted. Wood cages to be re-erected. My memoirs to be written (when I'm in the mood for those tales of derring-do and High Adventure). Paperwork to be gone through and tidied up. Crumbs - only one month to June!! Dry dock and welder and BSS certificate all to be sorted out before then!!
I can report that I haven't eaten any chocolate or sweets in the past 6 weeks, that was something to keep my interest during the last afternoon run. Some chocolate biscuits with my morning cappuccino/tea, yes. Alcohol consumption less, I think, all in all - the alcohol shop is 16 miles away in the town where I work, and I'm not going back & forth daily. Money useage has dropped off - I haven't used any cash at all for the past 2 weeks apart from our Lotto coupon (18€) and a bicycle chain link extractor tool (12€).
Apart from loss of wages (roughly from 95 down to 55 per day) (and loss of holiday for a 6-week period, and loss of extra free paid days) the biggest 'downs' are: Trip to Japan cancelled (wedding cancelled, and Finnair stopped flying to Asia). Trip to Newbury at Easter cancelled, so haven't been able to shorten the starter battery cables. But then, the fares for those plane and train trips stay with us so we have more money than we'd have had (apart from loss of wages - see above - and what use is money when you can't use it?).

You claim the British are too lazy to go and work in the field of East Anglia providing cheap food for the nation. Looks like you have a point.

If people can't think of anything better to do they could always write rude letters to the Chinese Embassy.

Rog Nope, as in you visit more but there is less content as most of us still have stuff to do in the day, you are sat in the boat most of the day, hence visit more... I am off work but am keeping myself busy round the house, I feel I am actually visiting less as I tend to read more on here when I am at work, skiving..
