My kids are back in school part time now on account of the woman having key worker status and their existing school has just reopened. It's a bit surreal having only 5 kids in the whole school which usually has about 300 kids !!
I'm guessing a lot of parents are choosing not to send their kids back even if they are allowed to.

risk avoidence is a way of life for some, although I was (and am) very opposed to Mrs Tabby's F it all and ignore it method, total risk avoidance is not possible. You just are sensible, avoid close contact when possible and use common sense ..... the trouble is common sense seems to be in very short supply among the brainless eejits that seem to make up a fair proportion of the population.

What gets me,is that the majority of folk getting involved with marches etc have no idea of social distancing.Plus,we know what happened was seriously bad,but why are folk getting involved when they actually aren't quite sure what's going on ?I get the impression many folk are getting involved just to be...involved. I did watch the footage.. It was awful and still I struggle with the why Yet I would not go out on the streets and scream at police officers...you cannot blame a whole group for the actions of 1 man..I think if this man been immediately arrested(and his cohorts who stood watching) and charged it would have calmed down the reaction..certainly abroad. But not in America it had to escalate into violent protests before anything done...and then initially only a lesser charge. Justice was not seen to be done. Once violence explodes it draws in those wanting to vent. Possibly people being in lock down with freedom restricted something like this has provided the stampeding herd with an excuse. And of course its all been fuelled by ranting on Social media platforms....

The police seem to kill quite a lot of people in the US but it's only the black people who seem to cause issues like this. Seems a bit odd. I can't remember any riots happening when a white man has been brutally killed by police officers. The stats seem to show that the proportion of blacks killed by police is around 13.5% (31/228). Population of the US apparently includes 12.5% blacks so it doesn't seem to be a particularly unbalanced statistic. What I don't understand though is why there are so many described as "unknown" as it is generally quite easy to see skin colour. I suspect the use of force is far more common and experienced by far more people than being shot. Hence why this death provoked enough anger for a large response.

Fair point the bloke wasn't shot.
However in the UK there have been plenty of white males shot by police but only time riots occurred were when it was a black man.
It's just interesting. I suppose people who feel suppressed are more generally angry about everything so easier to wind up.

Everyone in the UK protests to be filmed and film to be played back to prospective employers. Also film to be shown at their Job Centre if they're claiming the dole so it can be stopped as they weren't "actively seeking employment".

Not for the first time you utterly miss the point. If someone had knelt on a dog's neck in a public street for five minutes until it ceased to struggle ... if they then continued to kneel for a further three minutes after all signs of consciousness had gone ... that person would have been dragged off to cells for a court appearance, and prison. Once again in America a black man is casually and publicly killed by officers who's primary purpose should be to protect lives. Once again until footage is circulated to a wider audience, no action is taken. Such obscenity should not be happening. Whether he was a good man or a bad man ... he was a man. The officer involved must have been incredibly thick or very confident in the system looking after him. Surely it would be fairly obvious you are going to get into hot water doing something like this.
It will be interesting to see his acquittal at trial.
I guess it will be a self defence case.
