This all brings to mind some of the people I revile most in the world. They are intolerable and should be dealt with as soon as possible. 1. Racists 2. Misogynists 3. Homophobes 4. Lookists 5. Fat ugly black lesbians. I've heard the latter category are quite musical. The Black Dyke Band.

To be fair I think Jim Riley is more of a wind up merchant than the dickhead he sometimes comes across as. While his politics are extreme I suspect that his real character is decent. Maybe the seed of the far left was implanted into his brain at a youngish age, who knows, maybe at a time of vulnerability. Unlike the vast majority of us who, if we had the left wing tendencies that are common in the young, moderate or change them based on real life experience as we become a bit more mature, Jim seems to have missed this particular boat. Maybe that's because he spends a lot of time around young people and still needs to feel that he's popular, that's just a guess. Anyway, I think he's OK underneath that mask of far left extremism. Not far wrong there lad, <snip a big bit out to change the quote Daily Mail style> Deserving of sympathy really. When anyone puts on an extremist hat, of whatever colour, you'll normally find me in the opposing camp ....... In the general population, I like a few people, ambivilant about the majority, despise a few and thoroughly dislike isms and ists.
I have been described as a right wing, xenophobic, racist, ....... on CWDF ...... but on the other hand, probably so would Kier Hardy.

I see politics as a circle where the left and right eventually meet and become indistinguishable. Opposite that is the sweet spot where while not everyone will be happy, nobody can complain. Vivre the moderates.

....... there always are some who will, it seems to be in their genes.
...... maybe add the word "justifiably"

To the extent that Dom has pushed the victoriana toff to bring MPs back in too early because Dim needs a baying mob behind him to give his waffle any substance at the despatch box.

Politics is all about control of the population and trying to maintain some kind of order . Extreeme left or right politics usually result in the population being suppressed by force, so in that sense, left and right meet at the 'extreme' end of the circle . These kind of governments tend to be run as dictatorships. In this country, thanks to some kind of democracy and accountability, we have a more liberal political system. Since Blair it has been difficult to differentiate between left and right (Tory or Labour), so left and right meet at the 'liberal' end of the circle (even though they still find things to argue over!).

Not far wrong there lad, it's something to celebrate, not being infected with seeds of tory greed and selfishness. There needs to be a balance on here, what with all the weight on the right, the seesaw pivoting on poor virtuous dogless. Nothing to do with popularity with the young, just that my brain hasn't been addled as I've got older. I'm not troubled about race or creed either, live and let live, help others along the way. It's also best to subject trolls to humour and ridicule. We aren't just troubled by trolls though, there's a somewhat malevolent piskie crawls out of the long derilict tin mines of Kernow to hiss and spit venom where it can. Poor troubled critter. Deserving of sympathy really. Personally I'd suggest that someone who doesn't learn from their real life experiences over several decades, and adapt, and instead, continues to subscribe to the very pure notions they were exposed to during their youth is a bit of a fool. He or she could adapt and still be kind to other people, kindness isn't limited to those who subscribe to the ideology of the far left.

Sorry, I didn't see him between Kuusamo and Himanka. But I did leave the vole for dead as I looked in the mirror and saw it splatted on the road and not getting up. Was it a case of voleuntary euthanasia btw? Who can say? Perhaps it did spot us and run out of the undergrowth deliberately and wait in the line of the tyres. I really don't like running over animals, and apart from many frogs when three times the roads have been literally and liberally covered in them, like a mat, I can't recall ever having run over any animals. I have swatted a few birds as they have flown into me - hit a pheasant between Hertford and Stevenage, hit a blackbird between Hoddesdon and Broxbourne, and a crow bumped into the windscreen between Keswick and Penrith. I find it sad that in the middle of nowhere with no other cars on the road, 5 seconds either way would have saved that vole.

You have to think what could be best, and try and work out a practical and reasonable way of going about it. There is some leeway for 'the masses' but the politicians will always be told what to do by those who give donations to their Party (or get bumped off if they don't comply).

Nah, sometimes people think it no longer pays to be honest, e.g. HMG, others, that while their education and welfare was paid for by the general working populace, including singles with no offspring, they think that shouldn't apply now its their turn to cough up. People can change for the worst, unfortunately.

Of course some of us who have moved on realise that kindness doesn't end at the limits of enforced sharing via taxation and the feeling of entitlement when in receipt. Kindness can be measured in terms other than financial.
