White vinegar will remove the smell from your urine receptacle. Much better to use that rather than the shower or sink, like most boaters.

Blue works as well ... then correctly dispose into the sewage system designed for the purpose.

I visit elsans to empty sewage waste ... they are often okay but occasionally dreadful.
They are always cleaner after I have visited ... and if all users took the same responsibility the 'dreadful' occasions would be none existent.
The one at Banbury I took bleach and a scrubbing brush to on my last visit (last year) it took me the time it took to fill with water.
I have no problem with elsans ... just wish C&RT would stop removing them.
Rog
PS By the way ... vandals may do damage ... leaving shit everywhere is a very small minority of boaters.

Handy alibi "I was cleaning the Elsan disposal unit when the boat was stolen, officer".

The Simploo has a 12v fan which runs 24/7 ... have you connected that ? Rog Not yet Rog, the 12v wires are still going into the Thetford, havent touched any of that. I'm told the fan is helpful but not absolutely essential, because the smell is minimal due to the coco coir covering everything in the solids container anyway. But I dont know if thats true, because I cant smell worth a damn. I can only hope that my gongoozling visitors were not subjected to some awful olfactory torture from my toilet during their brief visit. Oh, the embarrassment... My toes would curl up in shame, except I dont think I have any shame left. And not a great of toes either, come to that. Tony connect the fan and flu I have had a seperate villa for years when the fan fails it smells a bit not of poo but it smells, fan running no smell at all

I hear that the WC in question is a popular venue with drug addicts and gets vandalised a lot. The Simploo concept seems much better all round. Personally I'd find somewhere to dig a hole.

My dogs always dropped their load wherever and I bagged it and binned it. Then I realised a natural waste product was being encased in plastic bags and going to landfill ... not very sensible. So I began to simply remove the waste into inaccessible areas and leave it to break down naturally. Rog I have this issue as well..I will always clean up where there are people, paths, parks etc Woodlands I will pick up and then upside down the bag in areas where people do not tread I keep thinking of the vast poo mountains in waste tip sites all surrounded by plastic....maybe the councils should be looking at ways of composting dog poo...

White vinegar will remove the smell from your urine receptacle. Much better to use that rather than the shower or sink, like most boaters. Apparently white vinegar watered down removes smell of pee from carpets.... not sure what it does to the carpets though
