I can't help but feel if a single, consistent message had been adhered to throughout, it may have been easier to sell, and more people would have attempted to stay 'on-side'. Wherever people gather ... supermarkets ... seaside resorts ... pubs or eateries ... if we all stick to clean hands, face coverings when required and keep your distance we should keep the issue under control and help protect the vulnerable ... and self isolate if unwell. Unfortunately the various messages have just served to create a chaotic feel ... 'eat out to help out' ... rule of six' etc. etc. Rog I feel that the face mask message has overtaken hand washing. People think wearing a mask means less hand washing required. Government has been terrible, they havenβt got a clue.

Sorry but I didn't say at any point in the post that it was all the fault of the young, maybe you just read that in your mind.

I cant do quotes, the bit you wrote saying that your pissed off with the young going out, getting pissed then copping off with people. Then seeing mum and dad or going too work on Monday suggested to me that you blamed the young. Silly of me π.

It was kind of implied in that 'the young' were the only example sited.
But if young or old ... ill or well ... stick to the hand washing, mask when required (covering mouth AND nose)and keeping your distance ... it won't matter what they've been upto ... individual responsibilty.
And before the fox jumps in about masks ... they are pretty pointless, but in enclosed area we are now REQUIRED to wear them, so wear them we should. Keep the message simple.

Piss taking aside - you must be getting withdrawal symptoms; it was hard enough with the boat being a mere 12 miles away and not being able to use it, must feel like you are half the world away from it. Next weekend time to talk about me flying over mid-Oct. I don't really see any problems. But must be from an 'approved country' such as Finland or Germany. Not via Netherlands!

The groups I've seen are all the younger lot....yummy mummies n babies coffee mornings taking over the local coffee shops... Mind u I don't frequent bars so cannot say about that end of the day. I only go into coffee shops for a takeaway (wearing mask) to keep me going inbetween dog walks

Most of the people I see in supermarkets, trains and buses that are not wearing masks are young, some older people but mainly young.
if you look at the cases v deaths now, its massively different from April, either the virus has become not as deadly or its the young getting picked up through testing.

And before the fox jumps in about masks ... they are pretty pointless I disagree - they are cheapest and simplest way to stop people sneezing their snot all over the shop.

The peak range is 20 to 29 years ... which must be good news of sorts as they're the least likely to become critically ill.

Rog This is also the age of those that tend to work in pubs and supermarkets etc. Probably more exposed than older people. Maybe these younger ones should just do there jobs then go home and sleep. Or... older people who are worried about catching the virus, or are at risk of it doing them real harm could stay in themselves?

Let's also remember that these young folk working in supermarkets, and various home delivery firms, amongst many other trades and occupations, have been working throughout the year and keeping everyone supplied ... even those who need to or choose to shelter.
I still believe individual responsibility is the only way forward ... just wish the government's message had stuck to that single and simple line.
Isn't it upsetting how the government (whatever party) are always frustratingly inept.

There is only one Party, it's LabCon. So called because they like to con you, and Coronavirus came out of a Chinese lab.

My view. Kokkola bus station. Never mind the delivery drivers, what about all the bus drivers... spreading The Infected all round the country! Glad to be of service! (1 passenger in the past 3 hours) (37 - that's my bus for next Friday 2nd - Kannus-Kokkola express)
