As for Wales, it's been a nightmare. It's been nearly 3 1/2 months since I agreed to buy it which is a ridiculous amount of time for a chain free cash buyer. There have been issues over lack of proof of the overseeing of planning permission by the local authority along with the lack of a building regulations certificate. My solicitor said this was uninsurable. Sellers solicitor disputed this, bingo! we have an insurance policy in place. There was also wrangling over the fact that the seller used it as a holiday let, in breach of a covenant. My solicitor demanded an indemnity, the seller refused. I settled it by telling my solicitor to forget about it. It happened in the past, actioned by another person, the property wasn't damaged, there's nothing to insure against. The plan is to exchange contracts and complete next Friday. I then have to decide whether to follow the spirit of the law or letter of the law in Wales. I shouldn't move there during the current 'lockdown' unless it's unavoidable. I'll have a think about that one. If u decide to go for getting in watch out for the locals...round here they r a force to be reckoned with for reporting 'holiday lets'..my daughter lives next door to a policeman and he told her the phone lines are humming with the righteous reporters..... I can imagine Patty. The law is that moving house 'should be delayed if at all possible'. To me that suggests that I may be hassled by police en route or perhaps as you suggest, by vindictive neighbours but at the end of the day, I don't think I'd be breaking any laws. I've cleared my boat for sale and aren't allowed to live on it. I can't stay at my parents' because that would be breaking the law. I'm homeless.

Exactly.
Always good to have a positive outlook.
Once it's all over he can start moaning about the Welsh rather than the supposed Indians.
We lived in Wales when I was very little. Money upper class parents bought a farm.
Actually the natives were pretty cool. Dowie Vaughn who was one of our neighbouring farmers was very taken with my mother and even more taken with her foster sister who is a black lady, half Carribbean half Lebanese.
This was back in the 70s. I think she was the first black lady he had ever seen !
She always has been majorly fanciable so it could just be that the bloke had good taste.

Well Abdul's solicitor noticed the lack of rent apportionment and raised the issue. Completion delayed until tomorrow now while my crooked solicitors re hashes the completion statements. I'm happy enough, 300 quid or so, that's a lot of Uber rides that Abdul would need to do to make it up.

Most houses Ive brought n sold have completed on a Friday..dunno why Just like any s... that got sent me during the divorce rocked up on a Friday Similarly any unpleasantness from 'him' always came on a Friday..... I don't like Fridays..... Anyway I hope your Friday goes well and u get rid of those millstones ....

Sales completed today, several million Rupees now lodged in my account. No sooner had the ink tried than I got texts off 2 strangers, Shoib and Habib, claiming to be business partners and brothers of Abdul, demanding keys and tenant details. Oh my God what have I started.

Yes well done Clinton Cool . Sell off England's freehold to furriners why don't you I know, I feel quite ashamed. White flight strikes again. Mind you, the relief far outweighs the feeling of guilt and shame. Perhaps that makes me selfish, I don't know.
