So that’s my liscence gone up nearly 30% in three years, Wtf? I wouldn’t mind if they did something. The visitor moorings round here are falling into rack and ruin. I'd protest by grounding my boat on a sand bank mid-channel! We have been without a licence for a year now. You can hear the coins jingling in my pocket I think we will be buying Visitors'/Explorers' licences from now on - come in sets of 30 days, and three of them come to £540. Will suit us. If you employed a bit of creative thinking and team up with some friends in your marina there should be no need to pay for a licence at all. Or, if you bravely set out onto CRT waters without a licence they will surely be onto you. However, given the limited array of 'solutions' they have to deal with non payers the negative outcome to you will be zero.

I thought the idea was to make a contribution towards maintenance of the system ? Rog I think that is the thing to do, but it seems the latest fashion is not to contribute but to benefit from the use of the facilities anyway. Judging by the number of unlicensed, no name, no number boats around here that get away with it. I’d say it’s on the increase. I just didn’t have foxy down as one of the licence evaders, oh well just goes to show.

I thought the idea was to make a contribution towards maintenance of the system ? Not if you are not on the system. Would you buy a EA licence when you're on the Shroppie? Eh?

No I found it in my I hate everyone book. I am struggling with an awful dilemna. A little ride across the river in my dinghy and about an hour of walking to get more beer, or no more beer. The things I have to tolerate ! It's unbelievable. Now of course if u had a small stockpile u would not have this dilemma... I have the bottles I drink downstairs and 'emergency rations' upstairs..when upstairs comes downstairs then I need to restock upstairs..if u get my drift. And now daughter is being ever so nice and 'looking after' her mum I just get her to do all my shopping......(don't expect it to last)

Rog I just didn’t have foxy down as one of the licence evaders And you have no need to, as we will purchase a licence before we set out on CRT waters. I expect you haven't paid Finnish Road Tax - does this make you an 'evader'?

No ... but I have a licence even though I'm not on the boat ... and also make an additional, voluntary contribution to maintenance. Each to their own I suppose. Rog

I thought the idea was to make a contribution towards maintenance of the system ? Rog It is. I had no control over the place I was born, nor the place I grew up. So, although I can resist, avoid doing it myself, I can't help thinking in the way that was bestowed upon me; my culture. 'You can take the boy out of Manchester, but you can't take the Mancunian out of the boy.'

Would you buy a CRT licence if you were not on CRT waters? Anyway, why the fuss now? I mentioned months ago that CRT kindly refunded 3/4 of our licence that we had purchased covering Aug 2019 - July 2020. What I would like to know is how long kris has been at the Visitors' Moorings, denying 'bona fide' boaters access.

Boat Licences don't 'licence' boat owners to be aboard their boats, . . although having said that, I'm sure that were C&RT to introduce such a condition in their corporately megalomanic Licence T&C's, it would be readily accepted by the gullible majority.

Well that will only work if you can find one if the few marinas without an NAA, maybe you should join CWDF 'iggs' campaign. (For those who get snarky about such matters there's an apostrophisation to chew on). The marina we're in does not require boats to have a licence. I recently discovered the 30-days-of-your-choice licence, and three of those could do us fine for a year. If the virus thing carries on you wont need one ever again

Indeed.
There were a few theories flying around that the first wave would look like a little splash in the paddling pool when one of the kids drops a rubber duck and the second wave would be more like that tsunami they had in Japan
You ain't seen nothing yet ?

If the virus thing carries on you wont need one ever again It's doubtful if anyone who lives in Wales will ever be allowed out of there again.
