I was upset to see CRT attempting to remove quality graffiti from a canalside wall in Camden.
It's part of the scenery. Waste of resources trying to eradicate it.
Bizarre really.

I agree @magnetman ... but about the colourful artistic sort of stuff.
Not a fan of random, often miss spelled abuse ... many local authorities are now paying graffiti artists to 'decorate' unsightly areas with murals, which is also a great way of covering the slightly unpleasant stuff too.

In Lisbon they have an area which has huge boards for the 'street artists' ..its brilliant as they change every time I've visited..sometimes its 'art' and sometimes slogans 'graffiti style.. In Chile apparently where there is street art the graffiti artists don't deface..however the place we visited where there had been political unrest this rule broken Sometimes slogans are funny and relevant but I don't like to see the offensive stuff.

there is some very good artistic grafiti around .... there are some very good examples around Hull
(The owner of the drydock in Hull employed a lad who he saw painting grafiti on a riverside wall, to come and do a mural along the front of his property)

Rog There seems to be a general problem with art and people expresing their feelings recently.

I used to a bit of tagging years ago. Never artistic enough to do bombs or pieces but did know a couple of real artists.
Some of it is amazingly well constructed.
Mine was just a tag "Roc" around Walton on Thames and Kingston on Thames.
Early 90s so probably all gone by now and mine were never prolific like some are.
I quite like the whole tagging scene. It's quite cool. I'm afraid I also like random offensive graffiti like the ones posted above.
It shows up what is happening in society.

Arseholes, bastards, fucking cunts and pricks Aerosol the bricks (Ian Dury)
The funniest news story for ages was about three kids who were killed by a train while out vandalising a bridge one evening. Taggers are scum.

There were no passengers and the families should have done a better job, huh.

I like the graffiti through Leamington Spa on the canal.. Took this last summer. Was quite a few brilliant ones along this stretch. Coincidentally, itβs five minutes walk from where I grew up.
