My first 'proper' trip - planned for Early April is due to pay the balance shortly... he's suggested installments so if he can't come he doesn't lose all his money and will make a decision nearer the time based on how things pan out. I can't argue with it - he's being perfectly up front and reasonable about it so I'm going with whatever he feels comfortable with... I Don't have a choice but to do my routes to be where I'm supposed to be just in case someone else takes the plunge at some point.... whether I'm allowed to travel or not - I have to. 2022 can't come soon enough for me. Doubt 2022 will be any different, I think this is the New Normal. What amazes me is how many people are loving the lockdown. Any "Billy No-mates" who never goes to the pub is delighted that nobody else can either. Legions of controlled control-freaks start screaming and shrieking whenever someone stands 1.99 metres away from them. In numerous comments of social media, people just parrot, verbatim, whatever the Government's latest slogan is. Even on this very forum we have a businessman and bar owner who is facing inevitable financial ruin and a life of destitution who is determined to reprimand anyone who does not tug their forelock, muzzle up and toe the official line. Stalin must be looking up from Hell and be awed by the power and control. I must agree, the amount of little hitlers popping up now is unbelievable.

I have to admit 'little men' with a perceived bit of power are the worst... Tescos are now back to their militant selves - checking on folks walking into the one here to make sure they are not from the same household etc. They didn't give a flying fart at xmas when it was heaving with folks making them massive profits whilst the other shops were forced to be closed.
The poor police too having to try and enforce practically unenforceable GUIDELINES??? (laws???) which is causing bad feeling and folks to lose what (already tenuous in some cases) respect they have for 'law and order' in the first place...
It may be hard to believe, but I'm Generally quite a well balanced sort of bloke but I have to admit I am finding it harder and harder to see a route out of this mess.. not just for me but for 100s of 1000s of people being thwarted left right and centre.
I really feel for young folks missing out on their uni life, gap years, teenage enlightenment in bus shelters etc. Those days/formative experiences cannot be re-lived/replaced. There is a the potential for a whole stack of 'socially, morally and emotionally' defective generations being created ...
Come on Stabby - Marry me! ;-)

"Methinks the lady doth protest too much" (quote marks denote, of course, that this is attributed to another source - and it is not (originally) in my own words)

There is a the potential for a whole stack of 'socially, morally and emotionally' defective generations being created ... I feel sorry for our next door neighbour family. Firstly the dad died on Christmas Eve 2 years ago, which can never be great. And now of the 2 teenage lads one was at Edinburgh Uni last year but made the sensible decision to stay home this academic year, and the younger one was due to start this year but decided not to. He is currently hanging around at home, his mum wants him to get a job but to be fair, the chances of a school leaver getting a job at the moment must be virtually zero.

Come on Stabby - Marry me! ;-) Have to admit,Tesco has seriously pi**ed me off ! Most places(eg Sainsburys) say they'd prefer you to shop alone but Tesco say-'You must shop alone'.It isn't law,so using the word must makes me feel mad-we really are turning into a police state.Don't get me wrong,I'm happy to shop alone but being told I must makes me feel like never shopping at Tesco again. *Also makes me feel like becoming an anarchist !😯

Well... you never know when someone might feel the urge to photoshop/screenshot something you wrote somewhere/anywhere several years ago ..... ... but - hey - good luck to you if that's the way you feel today .... Yes too true. Also you never know when someone is going to invent something bad that someone else allegedly did several years ago and then publish it on the internet as if it were true, in an attempt to smear their character. ... but - hey - I guess it might make that person feel better, at least temporarily until the accused person exposes the lie. And then they look pretty pathetic and dishonest.
