Just been said on the briefing that the mortality rate for the new Kent strain is higher than for the old strain so no lockdown easing for a while yet. On a more cheerful note Zoe has said that the infection rate is coming down, Zoe normaly runs a couple of weeks ahead of government data. covid.joinzoe.com/post/covid-cases-halved-in-two-weeks

My first 'proper' trip - planned for Early April is due to pay the balance shortly... he's suggested installments so if he can't come he doesn't lose all his money and will make a decision nearer the time based on how things pan out.
I can't argue with it - he's being perfectly up front and reasonable about it so I'm going with whatever he feels comfortable with... I Don't have a choice but to do my routes to be where I'm supposed to be just in case someone else takes the plunge at some point.... whether I'm allowed to travel or not - I have to.
2022 can't come soon enough for me.

Doubt 2022 will be any different, I think this is the New Normal. What amazes me is how many people are loving the lockdown. Any "Billy No-mates" who never goes to the pub is delighted that nobody else can either. Legions of controlled control-freaks start screaming and shrieking whenever someone stands 1.99 metres away from them. In numerous comments of social media, people just parrot, verbatim, whatever the Government's latest slogan is. Even on this very forum we have a businessman and bar owner who is facing inevitable financial ruin and a life of destitution who is determined to reprimand anyone who does not tug their forelock, muzzle up and toe the official line. Stalin must be looking up from Hell and be awed by the power and control.

Work asked me today if I could do a short shift on Sunday. Absolutely nobody else at the firm ever wants to work on Sunday so I said "OK, so long as I can finish early today". So they sent me home there and then. 30 minutes later a text message arrived saying "Sunday job has been cancelled".

I understand your frustrations Mr Stabby but I believe arguments to remain in severe restrictions will begin to weaken by mid to late February as the the top four 'at risk' groups have been jabbed ... and by June all groups representing 99% of deaths will have hopefully been jabbed (or offered at least). Of course all opinions are available and valid ... but by post easter I expect schools will be reopened as a first step. We shall see ... pubs and shops opening can't happen soon enough for me Rog
