I have half a dozen Ikea folding stools, they are the perfect height for both the chart table in the wheelhouse and the breakfast bar in the saloon. They are now about 6 or 7 years old and are doing fine. They do exactly what it says on the label

I must confess I've also been pondering chairs for weeks, but with a different outcome. I have a recline/swivel desk chair that I use 90% of the time, and I don't get very many visitors, although that may change over the coming months. But it seems highly unlikely that any sane woman could be persuaded to move aboard in the foreseeable future, so a single recliner is enough, and I just need guest seating. I picked chairs that were narrow enough that I could place one on either side of the saloon, with both chairs facing forwards towards the stove at the front. The problem is that the saloon space is only about 10ft long, and that includes the stove, but I also prefer a sense of space if possible. So my solution was small and fairly narrow chairs, but well cushioned enough to sit in for a few hours: www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B01MRTTNSV/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o07_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1I dont know if my boat is a bit narrower than the norm, but the floor width (from edge to edge of the skirting) is only about 1.6 metres, so it was really hard to find a sofa that would fit and would work well in such a small space, and still leave room for my small desk and the office chair. But before I can even place both chairs, I need to move the heavy metal ballast blocks under the floor as part of the refurb- previously they were inside the bench seats. I keep telling myself its worth the hassle....

Well thanks all very much ... you've been no help whatsoever I'll see if Mr Wilson replies to my e mail and keep trawling the Internet. I must confess the Wilson chairs were the perfect size, very comfy, and whilst well over £500 each, they were what we wanted. The leather settee we bought from there back in in 2005 has been excellent. Rog

Well we've still not tracked any down that are accessible whilst on board.
May have to wait until we're home in October ... but if anyone gets inspired, we're still looking.
