Ah fumes, reminds me of the time I was commercial manager at a Flexi-Gas filling plant, some nitrogen had got into some Butane bottles (another story) I set two of the yard boys to work venting the bottles to clear them. They were at it all day and at home time I found them wiĺl working away laughing and giggling, and guess what?.... They didn't want to stop and go home. They reckoned it was better than a night at the pub. Phil

I once made a bouncy inflatable, 1984,(castle withthout the walls) using the appropriate glue, at the time Sade's famous song Glue applicator was on the charts, fun to get high to. Can't say I enjoyed the buzz though, couldn't see what glue sniffers saw in it.

I have decided to do without glue sniffing this year ..... my old second hand inflatable seems to have finally breathed it's last. Last year I took the transom out and re-glued it and the year before re-fitted all the filling valves but this year I inflated it to see if it would stay up and after an hour I looked at it again and two of the three sections were completely empty and the third soft .... when I looked at it closely I found in one seam I could easily put my hand through the gap that had opened up I think this time it has gone just a bit too far I can't complain as I bought the dinghy and a little Yamaha outboard for £200 4 years ago. The engine is brilliant and seems never to have been used at all before. I have another slightly smaller inflatable tucked away in a cabinet in the wheelhouse that has hardly ever been used and has been stored inside. I will have to get that out and start using it.

Another job was i wanted the horn to be central and not to the Port side so i routed out and reset the cables inplace. To do this, just a matter of follow pics 20 min job Much better here Cut out a little and sink in the cable Make up some birdger Then fill it and a strip of CSM on top for the fun of it. not needed really. Smooth over with epoxy filler a si was using it and dont like to waste that stuff. More to come

Now you know how I got my name lol. Didn't need to be done like that but if it wasn't I know it would bug me for ever. Then it would been messing up the new paint job layer.

So as said i made a transom saver. Many like them some dont. After owning a lot of GRP boats i thought while i am at it i will make one. It is made from 2mm stainless steel plate. Bent in a vice with a few bits of timber. The outboard will be bolted through it and the transom. To help it bend it cut a mm through it To help bend it i made a cut on the bend line first Set in place the engine to get the hole correct then pilot drilled them. drilled out to 16mm for the M10 bolts hen filled with epoxy filler before being drilled out again. Plate then trimmed back to suit and ready to fit when all painted very soon So thats was another done job from last week. A few bits to do this week or weekend for the BSS on the 18th. Gas a bloody ga sleak but i know where it is after i had to line the gas pipe that runs in the battery locker, under rear deck. Missed that on the BSS sheets when i was building it. Ha dto cut he pipe to slide a 15mm flexi liner over it and fit a connector to fettle it back. And a few more vents for the cabin as only a 6x4 door vent fitted. going to et a solar vent aswell. .
