Would be funny if it wasn’t so tragic. Yeah... I felt shocked.. We need to develop our own immunity which will (I believe) happen as it did with Spanish flu when the mutations are such that they do not cause serious illness.... If not with Omicron then maybe the next variant. The side effects, for me of the vaccines are very unpleasant and I think before I have another I would need to be very sure its the right thing to do. I feel I made the right choices up to now in having the 2 then the booster, particularly as I've had a skirmish with the Big C. We will see how this one pans out.

I don’t think we are going to vaccinate ourselves out of this. I’ve had two, and won’t be having anymore. You’re perfectly correct in suggesting we need to build our own immunity, I reckon that’s exactly what needs to be done.

Maybe they have seen the light. You’d just think if the Israeli government was serious about stopping COVID they would share some of the vaccine with their neighbours.

Either that or the neighbours have worked out it's better not to have it?

Looking, as one does, at the sly news website I see they are coming for the children now. How predictable.
I'm just glad the woman is on board with me on this.
It must be horrible to have one parent who won't do the vaccine and another who wants to.
We did the BCG for the kids as seemed sensible but this latest scheme is too dodgy.
Much too dodgy.
So no thanks. Even if Tiny Blur says I am an idiot !
It's interesting they have wheeled out that awful scumbag. I would have thought it would have the opposite effect to that required.
presumably this speech he gave has put a big wad of cash in his pocket, which of course is the only aim.

Perhaps if the NHS had been financed and managed effectively and correctly in the first place, the risk of being swamped wouldn't have been so great. Amazing how much finance can be produced and scattered by government when they have the political will. Rog Rog savings from not paying the EU and they are borrowing trillions that will take hundreds of years to pay back

My mate Matt has Omicron, he is 45 no vaccinations its a bad cold, he is annoyed that he has to self isolate for 10 days rather than 7 because he isnt vaccinated as his mother is dying from cancer and time with her is precious. He is firmly in the its a fuss about nothing camp. He caught it from a customer [he sells cars] so got a txt did a home test positive so local test center, if it wasnt for the txt he would not have known he had covid, he thought it was a cold, which in theory it is, I think Boris is struggling to go for lockdown when the data he sees is like Matt its a cold, as Patty says natural immunity has to kick in at some point. As for Pfizer they are milking this for all its worth 80p to make a dose £26 to governments of course they want kids to have it its all profit

Pharmaceuticals are the new oil. Their not even that new, they’ve just stepped up the marketing campaign.

As for Pfizer they are milking this for all its worth 80p to make a dose £26 to governments of course they want kids to have it its all profit It’s certainly the case that covid can be quite a mild infection even for unvaccinated. And omicron seems to be even milder. But it is a lottery, a small proportion of perfectly healthy and young to middle-aged people get seriously or even fatally ill. A small proportion of a very large number of infections is still a lot of seriously ill people in hospital and dying. So to say “my mate has mild symptoms” is all very well, but doesn’t address the actual issue.

I was just watching something about how the Australian government are intending to proceed with Omicron in Oz
It looks like the softly softly technique and only going to use increased measures if absolutely forced to.
They seem to be working on the principle that if you have a good vaccination program with boosters for the vulnerable then the risk level for the public is much more palatable than it was for Delta and herd immunity might be achievable without a large loss of life.
They seem to be basing it on a fairly well thought out basis
trouble is with all the alternatives, you will only know you were right or wrong .......... afterwards
