I don’t know I wasn’t there, I’m too young. The interesting thing about history is that most of it is in the past. Good job really

I tend to look at novels, films, songs etc as cultural artefacts. For instance, some would contend that by the time this song was released, the counter-culture scene in 'Frisco was already over and that everyone who turned up as a result was a bit of a fashion victim. Scott MeKenzie, who had a nice voice, went on to become an accountant following this example of well-timed media exploitation.

Basically by the time the media catches on to something it’s already over and just the financial exploitation of it remains. The internet has speeded this process up exponentialy. I feel sorry for the youth really, I don’t think there are any dark dingy corners of reality left to have an underground scene. But maybe there are and I wouldn’t know as I’m too old now.

In the very early days of the internet before all the big corporations took it over, it could have been considered “the underground.” Even the dark web is by its nature is a place of commerce. Maybe it’s me who is out of step and commercialisation is our culture now.

Christ on a bike I do tell my kids that there is loads of good stuff on the internet but scary shit happens. This TikTok blackout (strangle yourself) game is very popular. Ok we are talking thicko kids and thicko parents but still. What the fuck??? You've actually got small kids deliberately trying to strangle themselves. This is too dodgy !! www.inquirer.com/business/tiktok-death-young-girl-blackout-challenge-20220518.html10 years old ! Hells teeth. I do tell the girls about these things in full detail and the girl who killed herself because her Tamagochi "died" Crazy world.

Freedom to strangle oneself in a competitive game where you don't know anyone else at the age of ten is a basic human right.
Fight for freedom!
A lot of the TikTok bullshit is basically just the yanks having a go at the chinks. No rocket science.

I think we are living in the world they saw coming. I suppose it was the mass industrialisation after the First World War that has got us to where we are now.

They are only exposed if you allow them to be It's a simple matter to restrict access. One can feign ignorance when they ask why doesn't my device display such and such. 127.0.0.0 is a wonderfully useful IP address. 🤭
