That is a very well travelled boat. They first came to the club with a Creighton centre cockpit cruiser, Bought an old Springer which was subsequently purchased by another club member when they bought their current boat. I hope the water lasts long enough for all those a long way from home to get back safely.

Just to add to the confusion, Damian Kemp has sent out an news email which states that the Coventry /Atherstone will close on 12/8. Presumably perpetuating the earlier error. The stoppage notice still says “restriction”. Left hand, right hand etc.

We've just seen that ... clear as mud.
We'll have to ring AGAIN on Monday to confirm again, that their last confirmation that it is NOT closed still holds good.

Left hand, right hand etc. On the occasions when I speak with C&RT by phone, I always ask for the 'Arse and Elbow Department' --- really gets them wound up, . . specially when they ask which department you actually want, . . and are told that any of them will do !

Yeah, I always find puerile and mindless ways to wind up the poor schmuck getting paid minimum wage to answer the phone. It gives me an enormous sense of well-being.

If I needed to be one side or the other of a stoppage/non-stoppage/who the hell is going do decide on Monday morning situation I think I'd just trust my own judgment, rather than what some lovely chap called Ryan or helpful Holly reads to me when I phone them. I called them four times over a few months about the non-working water tap at Great Haywood. On the last occasion they knew my name (?!) and assured me it was scheduled for assessment the very next day! Good luck!

Having been through this once I'm reasonably confident it's an admin cock-up again, and the restricted opening times will come into force that day.
But if they can't operate and understand their own stoppage alert system, what chance do we have 🤣
One of life's minor irritations I'm sure ... worse things happen at sea I'm told.

Indeed they most definitely do - but never forget that at sea you're not subjected to lock closures or the whims of CRT!

Fair comment I suppose However I've been travelling around since January without too many problems ... just minor irritations like mixed messages on closures and overgrown locks and bridge holes. And the Millenium Ribble Link has been operating since April with many happy customers ... even if it could be operated more productively. Rog

Some sit it out and moan that it’s to difficult.
