Another boat I pass regularly on the Paddington arm GU is this barge. Its an interesting boat. About 50x12ft it is riveted with overlapping plates so the front is to left of photo. Its a dumb barge I wonder if horse drawn or tug towed originally. Odd length and does not seem to have been cut. The interior is a double hull hopper. So the actual boat might be in good order. Its got a lovely shape and I think with some extensive works could make a very nice cruising barge. I've been told it is "for sale" but not actively. It sits there rarely used. Pretty nice item I think

I don't think it's all steel. It looks similar to a Dartline with the round corners on the roof, and therefore a fibreglass cabin on a steel hull, and lots of corrosion/leaks where the GDP meets steel. I've worked on similar in the past and they're a real nightmare.

It is steel with a steel welded tubular handrail. It would be impossible to fix a handrail like that to GRP without bolts. Also rust patches below and forward of front window.

It seems these were the first all steel all welded pleasure narrow boats and the cwdf thread confirms they were in the BWB hire fleet.
More or less a historic boat I wonder if it gets the discount. Much more interesting than some over restored over polished work boats ! And more use able !

Anyone care to guess how much they are asking for this little cherub? Its pleasant. Not my cup of tea as I am quite tall but its very pretty. Eta one for bargemast to comment on as he probably knows exactly what it is. It looks like a Tjalk but its a bit different. I wonder if it is a Botter. That's a very pretty small Dutch barge, it's not a Botter, which where fishing boats with a low stern to pull the nets in. To me it looks more like a kind of "Lemsteraak", I find it's lines very pleasing to my tired eyes. The inside could be higher than it looks at first sight. Peter.

I think £25k is going some for that but maybe its modern and has cachet value of some sort. I was a bit schokked by the price of the new build schokkers recently discussed so this could be a similar phenomenon.

There may be an error in the boat-listing, as I gave them the number that's disposed in the window 67804 and this was what they came up with, so if it's wrong, it's not my fault captain. Well spotted ! Sorry I didn't see that. I reckon that index number is from a different boat. Its odd that "waterway dolly" is not on the boat list. I suspect you have uncovered fraud I will tell my MI6 handlers and see if they want me to investigate this with you as my senior adviser. Its okay you get a higher pay grade than me in this instance

Its okay you get a higher pay grade than me in this instance I had checked the name first, and because that didn't show up, I tried the number. Any pay is very welcome at the moment, and they can keep the grade . Peter.

impressive inventory and exceptional power unit in there. The 6L3 is a legendary engine but unfortunately super ceded in most circumstances. Even a boat like Sabina H got a new Daewoo which was a sensible choice at the end of the day(oo). Its getting a bit chilly so firewood is going to be handy. Nice boat though !!
