This little katwijker is quite interesting specially price wise. I guess extensive hull works may be needed. Technically it looks pretty well sorted. Cabin a bit boxy possibly awkward to heat it but not awful. One for bargemast to comment on m.apolloduck.com/boat/house-boats-barge/580237

One for bargemast to comment on m.apolloduck.com/boat/house-boats-barge/580237As you say quite a boxy superstructure that will be rather difficult to heat if the windows aren't dubbel ones. If you only look at the hull, it could be a good barge, that was built at one of the best known yards at the time in the Netherlands "Boot". The photos don't look like the owner really wants to sell, as it's a terrible mess onboard, still nothing compared to the mess on mine, but mine isn't for sale (yet). If sold as is, it would maybe a good buy for a guitar player, as there seem to be plenty of these onboard. The asking price is likely negotiable, and isn't overly expensive by the looks of it. Peter.

I really like Katwijker hulls. Probably my favourite type of Dutch barge.
Normally they seems to be around 23m x 4.5m which is a bit big for me for a cruising vessel. This one is a more sensible size. Probably quite deep though and not really practical on UK wide canals.

Katwijker hulls are really the same as Luxemotor hulls apart from their strong rubbing band around them, which this one doesn't have, so it's questionable if this is a Katwijker, or just a smaller type barge with a similar hull shape. A small one like this one shouldn't be very deep, get in touch with the seller if you want to know more about it. Peter.

I'm okay thanks although the same length these are much bigger than mine. I couldn't get it,to where I am at the moment. I would have rather started with a empty hull like this.

I think we did that one on here a while ago. I'm struggling to work out where in London it is. I've checked most places but never come across it.

Could the following be the reason for not seeing it in London ? "The vessel is currently in North Yorkshire where one can stay aboard and have access to all modern marina facilities"Peter.

It's a pretty bad ad anyway, they talk about a video on which you can see the donor boat that has (had ?) the GM engine, but there's no link to that video. Also there's a great lack of info about the boat in the ad. But that's not the reason I'm not buying that boat . Peter.
