I wouldn't want to have to go forward for any reason in heavy seas.

That would have been my choice too for a number 10 boat, a well built Ferro boat will last forever and possibly even longer than that . Also the choice between a big Gardner and a beautiful single pot Sabb is an easy one. Peter.

Sabbs are great. I bought a Sabb 2G with gearbox off a bloke for £350 in 2005. It was sitting in a garden. Looked rough but OK. Turned out to be virtually unused started up clean and no smoke at all. Wonderful little engine I put it in a narrow boat I was converting to a tug. Should not really have sold that it was a nice boat. Oh well we make mistakes in life. Mine have been getting rid of good boats I should have kept. Big sabb fan me

Next time you see him give him a good talking to. I can give that a try Jim, but without being overly pessimistic, I think that that time would be wasted . He doesn't look like a bright spark in the morning (or any other time of the day either). Peter.

Little bit of a worry that it has had some much work done externally. If its such a good boat I wonder what was wrong with the decks. Maybe just lack of maintenance.

Yeah I continue to muddle through making mistakes but I don't think they are such big life changing ones anymore..with age comes acceptance of the who you are It doesn't really bother me as it did... I think I'm mellowing

It would have to be something like that to tempt me ...... as we have said many times before .... love them but prefer someone else to own them

I don't think I'd ever be tempted to get a wooden boat really .
