Sadly I can't find that so will just throw my phone into the cut on 22nd April and beg the fishes' forgiveness. settings/apps and notifications/advanced/emergency alerts Thank you very much for that. However, I still can't find "emergency alerts" even in the advanced settings but I did come across something where I managed to donate my phone's organs - in the event of it being found alive and in a fit state to help anyone on 22nd April. I feel I have done my bit for society now.

I couldn't find emergency alerts on my android by manual interrogation of the settings but there was a "search settings" box at the top of the main settings page so I just wrote "emergency" in it and it showed me where to go.

If by "handset" you mean my phone, I know it isn't that old because I lost the last one in the canal a few years ago. That was the third that went swimming/drowned so I just bought the cheapest they had in the shop closest to the canal. I use my "handset" to speak to a couple of people (rarely), text a few but principally to tether to my ancient laptop. Thanks for the tip (settings/about phone) - it is Android version 8.1.0, security patch level 5 May 2019. I was really pleased to discover when pressing all these options though that I had already managed to switch off all Covid alerts somehow! Perhaps that means I will be immune to the mass alert next month?

Where you found the medical alert option, the one at the bottom should say wireless emergency alerts, but I presume it may need updating. Happily, you shouldn't receive the alert.

But it's worth getting the most bang for the buck...checking the version placed on the phone is a good one if you only ask one question - things got much better with ver.10...we're now up to 13.

Things got much worse when they stopped naming the versions after puddings.

They are practicing for when Putin nukes us. "Come on Putin, press the red button and put us all out of our misery!"

Reckon it will take about another 12 months before the russkies really start to run low on conventional weapons. Like you would know. Another 'prediction' based on 100% bullshit. My impression is that you are actually a bit thick - what people describe as 'an underachiever' - and simply do your best to bluster and impress others with your 'knowledge'. Still.... now you are the 'expert' on Russia. Gawd.

Public service by text message and you have to acknowledge it before using the device afterwards? What a joke. Its basically just a way for someone to gather information about how responsive people are on their phones and how much they are using them. Load of bollocks turn off phone or put it on shite mode for the day. One wonders if this will include pushing messages through via IM services like whatscrap etc. Emails? Maybe it is good but it looks too much like state interference. Conspiracy Theorist !!!

As I expect you know, things didn't end well. That's right - they all ended up with an Indian Prime Minister and a Pakistani Mayor of London.
