The obesity crisis has nothing to do with politics, unless politics is money, which of course it is really; people eat fat foot (as I call it) because it's cheap and easy; the cheapest calories in the shop. It's all about producing the most appealing product from the cheapest available substance, often something previously considered a waste product, which has not so much a shelf-life but more a half-life. It's funny to remember that TV dinners, as they are still sometimes called, were originally marketed as a benefit to housewives who desired more from life. It's striking to watch old newsreel films and look at the people - obesity is a strictly modern issue.
In the end these things exist because they are the most profitable; the same reason we have a plastic waste crisis; plastic packaging is simply the cheapest easiest way of doing things.

I guess it depends on perspective. There always seems to be room for another kebab shop. I don't mind a sausage every so often, but best not to think too much about what's in it.

Keep up, the lad at the back, Sugar Tax is a Tory tax. This measure amends the definition of a soft drink which is liable to the Soft Drinks Industry Levy. The Soft Drinks Industry Levy will now include packaged concentrates which are mixed with sugar at the point the drink is dispensed from a fountain machine. The measure will take effect from 1 April 2023.15 Mar 2023 www.gov.uk › publications I was commenting on the fact that you a “socialist,” allegedly. Condoning such practices. Ps They may have got rid of sugar, but replaced it with aspartene. Which causes cancer, I think I’ll take the sugar. One doesn't need sugar laden fizzy drinks in the first place, do without. We have hardly any extra sugar in anything. The populace are led by the nose to consume crap, Ultra Processed Foods etc, then the NHS has to pick up the tab. The number of chubby waddling kids and adults I see around, it's awful for the poor buggers. Feeding kids so they are overweight is child abuse.

KFC is pure chicken and the chips are just healthy potatoes. Not sure you understand modern chicken production methods. Think steroids and hormones. Also the 'healthy potatoes' are more than a tad processed by the time KFC serves them up and as for what they are fried in...oh dear.
