I remember liking sugar sandwiches when I was a boy, but not that it was a regular thing; more of a fad. Never made a crisp sandwich though. I may try it. We've gone upmarket these days, we were tempted by a multipack in the cheap bin t'other week, wholegrain multiseed with butter and crisps.

Black pudding and fried bread with brown sauce ... proper breakfast but akin to self harming.

I know black pudding is probably at its most authentic when containing many obvious lumps of fat, but every now and then I have found some which did not. I prefer it that way. However there is, from a food science perspective, nothing good to say about eating large amounts of congealed blood. Does taste good though!
I have a conceit that if you exclusively fry stuff in olive oil then it's not so bad. Also if you buy it in large amounts (like 4 litres or more) then the cost isn't so terrible, although olive oil has been a serious casualty of inflation.

Organic rat milk is very pleasant.
Best served quickly while still warm.
Have it with ground coot beaks if possible.

It's the one that advertises heavily a couple of bridges before that is very disappointing....

Last year the 'disappointing one' which is canal side, was closed anyway ... not sure if that's permanent. The guy at the good one off the canal at Stoke Golding was telling us they were opening a cafe too, hopefully this year. You'll have to let us know Trina π Rog
