Anybody watched that program about the manufactured meat. Apparently it’s made from human protein cells. What could go wrong? I mean it went really well when they started feeding ground up cows back to cows didn’t it.

Not watched it, kris but quite agree with your sentiments. I am a gamekeeper's daughter and a farmer's niece.... you learn an awful lot at a very young age about what really is "good for you"!

No I’ve not watched it all yet hence the question. I don’t eat meat( unless I’ve ripped it out of their body personally,) so it doesn’t really effect me that much.

I didn’t watch it, but it was mentioned in the news today that it was a spoof. A spoof that mostly passed by the Twitterati etc. well spoof or satire, depending on how you view it. Anyway, it was not based on reality.

There used to be a hoax concerning KFC 'growing' meat in a lab, usually accompanied by a picture of a a leg with bone. When I saw it my first thought was 'why would you make the bone?' But producing 'meat' in a culture is now actually possible but still too expensive.
Anyway if it can be done with human tissue it can just as 'easily' be done with pork. So clearly a wind-up.
On another note there is some interest and even progress in 'growing' replacement organs like kidneys and liver.

(sorry, think that campaign was about something entirely different, equally ignored and we're all on the highway to hell....?)

I like showing the kids the mouse with the human ear for the shock effect. They are not shocked which is why it is good. The Vacanti mouse.
