I finally got put through to the Neurology Debt yersterday to enquire when I might get an appointment to try to deal with my vertigo - told it might not be until Oct or Nov, that will make it a year since my first attack/collapse - perhaps if the Cons sorted out the NHS the number of people 'on the sick' would reduce... I'm in Wales, waited 21 months for my first appointment.

I have no problem with that as long as it's a GP that says whether they are fit to work or not. Not some ex traffic warden with a script and boxes to tick. Sure it'll be knuckle draggers from Capita / G4S with clipboards & targets to meet!🙄

Apparently it is about helping people into work. I have no problem with that as long as it's a GP that says whether they are fit to work or not. Not some ex traffic warden with a script and boxes to tick. It is a bit strange hearing someone who doesn’t use the nhs (rishi.) saying that doctors are going to be stripped of their right to issue sick notes? Wtf. Surely this is what doctors do, deal with people that have disease. They have trained for it, unlike someone who works for the dwp. Mind you its just rishi pandering to the right wing before an election that he is definately going to lose. I’m sure labour will sort the situation out, when they get in. 🙃

Actually if they use the 'knuckle draggers' they currently use, the result might not be what is expected. My GP signed me off sick, the DWP assessment that took over 4 months to happen but had more time allocated, said I was not fit for work or looking for work and I was entitled to extra money...

I've already explained my previous 'anarchist' signature. Perhaps you weren't listening. Or perhaps you're unable to hold on to information for very long.

Actually the more I think about this the more I realise Rishi is rabble rousing.
Current situation...
If you are on UC and turn down a job, you get sanctioned and lose your benefits for a period of time.
If your doctor signs you off sick for more than a month, you get put on the 'health pathway' and will have a DWP appointed assessor assess you.
Seems like the only thing changing is that the DWP assessor can over rule your GP - expect lots of costly appeals if that starts to happen.

So the Anarchist label was just to appear Cool ,Clinton? You are always banging on about small state, the way forward is to set an example and show how it's done. Each man is an island and all that.
