Anyway what about an electric bike with 75amp/hr battery? Your the electric bike expert on here. 😀 I've got a 17ah battery, ample for all my needs. Check out Matthew Slack's post about touring the highlands and beyond with solar panels on his trailer. Would you not be better off with 2 or 3 smaller batteries, then if you are just going to the shops you aren't carrying the extra. There are battery connector gubbins available that keep it all safe. If you are going on an expedition just plug in the extra batt.

I’ve got the chance of some cheap batteries, but I’ve got to be quick I don’t won’t to buy them if they aren’t suitable. So I just need to know if they will work they are good quality batteries with 100 cycles on so could be a good deal.

James still has Valences? He wants too much for them. There are lots of cheaper alternatives with better bms’s now a days. These are 36v blocks. Ps Don’t tell James I said so.😀( he’s turned a lot of people onto lifepo4’s and made his dosh out of them.) I think I’ve got a good price on 120ah but I’ve still got to do some research. Things like find a decent 36v Lifepo4 charger. I’m still composing a post to Jim’s forum on electric bikes. I need to get the correct wording, so they don’t laugh at me.

Links to what? twin battery gubbins? there's info / discussion on pedelecs, it's possible to make your own with schottky diodes immsmr. google 36v dual battery connector, lots pops up. They all have xt60 connectors on, which I found useful for the power wires on the bent twin. I discovered the joys of shrink wrap tubing doing that project, all the wire lengths were suitable for a bike, I had to do a lot of shortening/lengthening to keep it all tidy. Stop worrying about snarky responses, just be upfront with what you know and what you dont, introduce yourself on the new members thread, your questions are genuine.

Ffs. I’ve still not found out that if these 36v valences are any good for use with electric bikes. The forum jim den me to is great but it’s full of Jim’s. So that’s a a great winding rabbit hole he sent me down. I should hab known better than listen Tina 6ft 6 white rabbit. Can any one tell me if they are any going good? For bikes or canoes? I’ve got a good deal on hold and I can’t find out if I should buy them or not. Regards kris

The issue will be the potential rate of supply, the demands of the motor will be specified, what info do you have on the batteries and discharge rate. It will work but will you get voltage fade or whatever if the battery can't send voles down the wire quick enough. Are the Valences charging up to 42v? The rabbit is 8ft to the tips of his ears btw. What did you ask on pedelecs so I can have a look at the answers?

If you are doing an electric canoe you want a Minn Kota trolling motor. 12v usually although they also do 24 and 36. Usually a Minn Kota or three on Fleabay.
Around £100 for second hand. 40lb Thrust is ideal and it you can find one with Maximizer written on it that is the high quality electronic controller version.
Brushed motors very quiet.
You could build up an electric motor onto an existing outboard but it won't be very quiet.

Sack the minnkota and the bike, fit the mid drive to a pedalo, a swan one would be cool. Fit a waterproof Bluetooth remote for steering and throttle, take yourself waterskiing.

These are the ones talked about in this thread. The ones I’ve been offered are cheap they would be perfect for an electric outboard I think, I can find out much about them used as electric bike batteries but thats because of the weight I suppose. That’s not really a problem to me as I wanted them for a trailer bike and I could probably get two on a trailer. Good for touring with some solar panels on. I don’t know about mini kotas or what ever but what if I wanted the equivalent of four or five hp links are good.
