Interesting to see how this one escalates. I wss mildly amused by how quickly the lawyer played the race card and also produced a blatant non sequitur. ""We need answers from Greater Manchester Police because it’s ridiculous. I’ve never seen anything like this in my life. It’s becoming common – police brutality against people of BAME [black, Asian and minority ethnic] backgrounds. It’s disgusting." So yeah. This may not have been a race related incident. It could just have been scumbag related. Why say you have never seen anything like it and then say it is common? If it is common then you must have seen it before. Stoking tensions. What fun. Maybe old Enoch was right after all. www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/cjk3ppjjlpmo

Apparently a policewoman had her nose broken in this incident so I'd say there's more to it than meets the eye.

Suppose its lucky it wasn't a black geyser or they'd be rioting and setting fire to things and looting the shoe shops.

The police officer 'lost it', doesn't matter what went on before, he should either of used the taser or taken control of things, the guy was already face down on the floor with arms beside himself. The very least that should happen to the police officer is that he is stripped of his gun licence.

Not even worth a mention.

He obviously totally lost it ... maybe the lady officer with the broken nose was the tipping point.
I fear he's not going to be an officer for much longer and prison time is a real possibility.
Quite a sad but avoidable outcome.

I couldn't be a copper. They earn less than I do and all I do is spend most of the day on Facebook and Thunderboat, scratching my bollocks while I wait for other people to do their thing.

It must be obvious to anybody wishing to become a police officer that, from time to time, they will encounter a violent individual or two. But the role of the police is not to mete out justice. Kicking someone in the face and stamping on their head, especially after completely subduing the individual, is not in the job description, even if you really, really feel like it. It's bad luck he was caught on camera in quite so obvious a transgression but that's the end of his career. I bet he was otherwise mostly quite good at rozzering. The mad thing is the cunt on the floor is now in line for a nice bit of compo.

The mad thing is the cunt on the floor is now in line for a nice bit of compo. Let’s hope he receives his compo whilst doing a nice long stretch in prison for violent disorder and assaulting police officers. Yes the copper shouldn’t have kicked him and obviously lost control, which is bad. But the thugs probably deserved it.

The copper was obviously giving the perp a good kicking as a punishment for breaking his female colleague's nose. What's not to like?
Really, they should be talking about giving him some type of award, not the sack.

I expect it was easier to be a copper prior to the 90s but personally I'm glad things are changing. I've met some who were and likely still are a disgrace to the uniform.

How much compo is going to be involved? 🙄 www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/cnk4pp530eqoThe family of a man who was kicked and stamped on by a police officer at Manchester Airport have been left "traumatised", a solicitor representing them has said. Akhmed Yakoob was speaking on behalf of brothers Muhammad Fahir Amaaz and Amaad Amaaz, who were both involved in the incident

I wonder if compensation is uprated for those in the 'protected groups' in the way that sentences are uprated for those who carry out crimes against those in the protected groups?

All we've seen so far is what the stirrers have recorded. Don't all police now wear bodycams? If so then there will be more available for the investigation. I did read that the police had identified him as a wanted criminal and were arresting him before it all kicked off. No pun intended.
