Almost. Aero engines are encased in nacelle, cowlings are the (generally) removable panels.

But it's connected to a stud fitted to the hull next to my battery negative terminal hull bonding stud. You've already pointed out that I can't refer to the battery negative connection as "earth", So why is it ok to call the inverter earth connection "Earth" when they are effectively connected to the same point? Just asking π€

So what should I call the Earth connection on my inverter output?

Teake a tip from someone who grew up on a farm, and don't piss on it while it's switched on π¦ May we ask how you arrived at this snippet of information. Phil Sure. There was an electric fence around our village football field to keep the cows off the pitch and as young lads (in the sixties) we used to play football there most nights after school. Being 'out of the way' it was not unusual to take a leak off the side of the pitch when natured called. Need I say more? One evening I was doing the necessary when my mate Jimmy Winter, at the other end of the pitch, turned on the fence for a laugh. Two lessons learned: 1. Don't piss on electric fences. 2. Never trust a bloody Grammar School kid. Message to Jimmy Winter if he ever comes across this post via a google name search at some later date: "You're a TWAT".

If the forum relies on one poster, I have no doubt it is doomed. Not neccessarily, it would then become a blog.

Someone obviously knows what the hot topics are over the road today! You Lurker you. Haven't been to Canalworld for a couple of days - honest! What hot topics? I have been going there less and less, as it's all so lacklustre. edit, 5 minutes later: I see nothing 'hot' at all there, Jim. Just the kind of old shit that makes me want to put a gun to my head and blow my brains out. Talk about boring over there. Like the smell of boiled cabbage at the old folks' home. I looked in there earlier and it was like walking in to the 'Day Room' of a retirement home for gentle folk. It's definitely lost its sparkle.
