Then there's the question of why this heap of shit hasn't been hauled out of the canal... BSS? Insurance? Certainly no current licence displayed! Why don’t you just snitch them up if you feel that strongly about it instead of moaning like a little bitch on here?

Anyway, I think it’s always worth chatting to people first before making judgements. Forums are full of polarised views based on...well nothing but other people’s polarised views...

That's why I put the rabbit ears 'o' Then there's the question of why this heap of shit hasn't been hauled out of the canal... BSS? Insurance? Certainly no current licence displayed! Did you snap that near Nantwich last year by any chance?

Yet if the Police wanted to make piles of dosh very quickly, all they have to do is put a man on a motorway bridge with a speed camera pointing down to the 3rd 'fast' lane - 99 out of 100 cars in that lane are speeding! Why don't they do this? How naive, do you honestly think that the police make any money from catching speeding motorists?

Let's say a £200 fine per car doing 80mph instead of 70mph - one policeman catching 10 cars per day, that's £2,000! The Police claim they are underfunded - well, go and make some dough, then! Although, of course, I'd let judges and politicians get away with it, otherwise they might 'have a word' with my supervisor and I'd end up on the dole.

It’s true Foxy has gone down the Daily Mail route with this. proceeds from fines in Northamptonshire go towards the running of this scheme. www3.northamptonshire.gov.uk/councilservices/northamptonshire-highways/road-safety/Pages/carkraft-driving-courses.aspxThey’ve tightened up the age range - it used to be open to anyone who has an interest in road safety and improving their driving. i did it at Silverstone and was lucky to get a 1 to 1 on my road driving assessment with a Traffic Sargent, I learnt more about the attitudes of the police and my attitude towards them than anything else. It was a superb day and I was very thankful to all the poor buggers knicked on the M1 roadworks who helped pay for it. Plod were there on their days off so were not on an OT jolly, they too were giving something back.

Why not!, cuz that isn't how it works, same with local councils and the like. The money raised DOESNT go back to the police, it mainly goes back to central government never to be seen again.

Exactly. "Never to be seen again". Although gazza has given us an example as to how it can be / is used. The 'fast lane' (note rabbit ears) is a conveyor belt of money, aggressive arseholes with too much money queing up to be fleeced - so fleece 'em!
Anyway, I just nipped back to share this:
"Rail fares in UK have soared TWICE as fast as wages after shooting up 37% in ten years" "Network Rail worker told by a colleague that her 't*** look massive' in her Christmas jumper wins more than £20,000 payout"

The roadworks on the M1 were a perfect example of why cruise control or a speed limiter is such a useful tool to prevent you getting knicked or spending half your time glued to the speedo when you should be looking at the road ahead.

Bought a ticket at the train station. No need for a season ticket or any of that nonsense. 30 miles, cost, 33 pence. On arrival at Manchester airport their version of the Gestapo now prevent you picking up from the terminal so I took a train, one stop to Heald Green, approx. 1.7 miles to get picked up there instead. Cost, £2.30. So, by my calculation British trains are over 120 times more expensive per mile than Indian trains. I guess that's because the Indian government invests in its railways whereas the British government 'invests' in single mothers, enabling the youths to go out and shoot people when they grow up a little, when the realisation dawns that having the state as a father doesn't work very well.
