Me neither but then I am dyslexic. I just think it's sad that a lot of boaters are sleepwalking into losing the lifestyle we all love. Just because they are falling for the same old divide and conquer routine that has been used thousands of times before.

It's all those years of saluting the uniform rather than The man that's left him like this,we shall win him over You are so wrong Loafer is loafer he says what he sees same as me Come on Peter, how great do you actually believe this live aboard problem really is ? Almost everyone is moving per the 95 Act if not the CRT Recommendation even those in London and on the K&A.I think its the fact that the Boat is used primarily for housing thats your main issue. Please tell us because we are here in small enough number to have a debate and unlike yourself I live on the Cut.I don't see it Peter.

It's this ostrich like behaviour that you are showing that will mean the end of people living on the waterways. The cc'er issue is just a distraction technique to devide boaters and keep them arguing amongst themselves. While all the time Crt are sellng off more property than ever and the maintenance of the network is in decline. But hey ho alls well in your little bubble of alcohol induced haze so why bother hey. All is indeed excellent in my little bubble, thank you! (Not sure what that last 'hey' was for though) Let me ask you something loafer. How much does CRT spend on enforcing the use of bikes on the towpath. How much do they spend on enforcing no dogshit on the towpath? CRT with its enforcement department for boats, it's legal department and staffing spend in excess of one and a half million pounds a year. How many times has a speeding cyclist, or a dirty dog owner been prosecuted? Who do you reckon they want to get rid of, cyclists, dirty dog owners?

Exactly I would suggest that inconsiderate cyclists having a bigger impact on a greater number of canal users, than overstaying boats. But Crt do nothing, in fact they are scared of doing something.

I just passed two CRT blokes on the towpath walking North of Grafton Regis with a hammer some spikes and a roll of yellow and black Barrier Tape.I watched amused as they fenced off two rabbit burrows on the towpath, what kind of people complain about two rabbit holes on a towpath in the countryside? A cyclist?

I agree that there is not enough attention paid to cyclists and dog poo. They all annoy the shit out of me and the Mrs. But the answer is not, IMHO, to stop hassling CMers. At least a dog poo or a cyclist doesn't hog the water points, the VMs and clutter up the towpath with an obstacle course!

Would it happen as often as you see an abusive cyclist, or as often as you see dogshit in the towpath?

Come on Loafer its a fair question because I see none. How many people do you see refusing to move their boat at all. Bear in mind that you would have to overstay to witness them do the same thing.

None in the last month. No abusive cyclists either. An average amount of dog poo. But then I mostly cruise up North/Midlands where it is less of a problem. I should say at this point that CMers are LESS of a problem than 'Dumpsters'. MONTHS on end, two years in a row, at High Onn by the bridge. The local home-moorers were well pissed off about it. I don't find the canals cluttered with them at all, but I'm ALWAYS annoyed by just ONE, largely because I can't do it! It is interesting that I have never been bothered by CRT, nor forced into a Marina, nor ever received letters or emails from them, never refused a license and never been on double-secret probation. I remain sceptical as to why so many other people suffer from the above, whereas we (and all our friends) don't ever see it. Is it because I am Special?
