KMK21 posted a very basic question about having a 240V mains feed fitted to her boat. One poster suggested that it would be a good idea to "Also plan for a good marine battery charger at some time" which seemed like a good idea to me. The reply was that they had recently installed 450Ah of 'traction' batteries, a 'proper' (?) monitoring system and a 'charge controller' so they would be ok. With no apparent method of supplying the high voltages required by a traction battery installation during the winter months when they cannot cruise I posted a short post that "It will all end in tears". Because it will. A few other posters agreed. KMK21 responded by doing a mini flounce and then returning to say that she was "horrified about how you all make assumptions about things you know nothing about?" And "I think we are battery covered thank you my hubby is a diesel engineer for 30+ years". Several posters tried to explain the problem but her last words on the subject were "OUR BATTERIES ARE FINE !" There, now you know who KMK21 is.

I'm sure she's a very nice lady. But she doesn't respond well to reading things she doesn't like to hear.

Well I hope it doesn't prove to expensive for them ref the traction batteries. I guess it can be difficult understanding a boats needs and set up and as we know all to well lots of advice flows different ways when asking questions and we don't know what they have been told by people not on the forums...perhaps they will have a good think and read and work it out.
But if you are looking in....welcome...

The back story to my welcome post is an exchange of PMs we had including my invite to have a look here. In her replies it seems they CC and have done so for a couple years. The mini flounce was the result of some rather unpleasant and offensive PMs she received from some members on the thread. She herself told me she us no soft girly girl, a company director who is used to dealing with male testosterone fueled discussions but she said she was actually shocked by the messages she received. Shame on those who sent those messages, a newbie should be treated better Phil

There are some terribly superior and censorious buggers over there,

If someone sent me a shitty personal message (unless after due diligence I thought I deserved it!), I'd post it up publicly in the appropriate thread.
