Mine was in my hotmail junk.
Due to the majority of boaters having a mooring, and not owning a wide beam, I suspect fees will increase for wide boats and those without a home mooring will be forced into paying a hefty sum on top of their licence fee. Many without a mooring struggle by with very little money so will be forced off the cut. The waterways will be much poorer for this.

Gentrification of the waterways here we come.

What I really dislike about the current regime, is that rather than being honest about their intentions, they implement there policies through deceit. BW and now crt have wanted every boat to have ai mooring for along time. They now intend to make this happen through charging a surcharge for ccing. If boaters don't start getting active this lifestyle will disappear.

Problem is we employed a cheap contractor who had language problems and did not understand that it was the driver we wanted to put out of action.

If we all complete the survey (very poor choices) that all changes are 'very unfair', and emphasise that no changes are necessary, it will be interesting to see how they justify their agenda.
I'm sure they will make the changes they wish to, whatever the survey results.
Interesting question on "your cruising area for the last 12 months". Only one response possible, and we could/should indicate at least three.
Changes are coming. THEY have decided I believe.

I suppose it will lead to liscence evasion increasing.

I tend to think that an individual's input to this sort of thing is worthless.
I do suffer from CBA syndrome so that could explain it.
No idea how it works but do they at any stage take into account the percentage of people who actually respond to this sort of thing?

I don't understand what drives the desire to change (apart from the proliferation of wide beams and the chance to use it to increase income) and consequently feel the investment in professional survey companies etc, is unnecessary and wasteful.
The idea that boats who pay for a home mooring should be appeased by saying that boats without a home mooring will have to pay more, is simply disgraceful. You pay for a 12 month licence and cruise as you wish. No one is obliged to take a mooring, it is simply personal choice.
The whole construct and motivation of and for this process is corrupt, in my view.

As ricco said in his post, a lot of people who cc are struggling for money, so if there's a large surcharge added as well as the above inflation liscence increases that are on their way. They just wont bother with a liscence at all. It's pretty obvious really.

You can tell the results will be ignored when you get to "How should our proposals be phased in?".

They are bringing in a zone system similar to London transport. Zone 1, and you pay more to cruise that zone continuously. The zones get cheaper as you use more. The silly thing is, it will be cheaper than a mooring at say packet boat marina, so you can see what will happen, even without the ability to be a mindreader.

I noticed they suggested taking away the 10% prompt payment discount.
This could affect some people in quite a big way if it were extended to all licenses and moorings.
