When they don't have a large airforce, cruise missiles or sophisticated military tech, how else are they going to attack us?

Well I'm glad to live in a country with occasional terrorist attacks rather than one which is subject to systematic bombing from jet fighter planes and cruise missiles. It's not teenaged girls who are flying those fighter jets and firing those cruise missiles though. is it? Essentially, the motivation for the choice of venue is that pop concerts are considered by Islam to be profligate idolatry and totally unacceptable in a Muslim country. I suspect British bombs have killed teenage girls. Maybe not but it seems probable to me. Which makes us a target. Fact. I don't think its to do with profligate idolatry, its just a soft target with maximum chance of casualties and publicity. Is public transport also seen as profligate idolatry? Anyway its all driven by the US who WANT "a piece of" the middle east not "peace in" the middle east so an unstable situation with occasional attacks on european countries is perfect.

Totally unacceptale in some Muslim countries, but a minority. In other words it depends on your interpretation of Islam. Just as the Jew interpret the Old Testament in a different way from Christians such that, for instance, they can't mix dairy with meat. Personally I'd ban all religion, definitely including Christianity, and the world would be a much better place.
Anyway I think a more likely motivation for the choice of venue is that the perpetrator was indoctrinated / radicalised by the internet, became mentally ill and just wanted to end his life whilst creating the maximum amount of shock. I suggest there is no point in trying to put a rational motivation to it.
Don't underestimate the power of irationality - there are plenty of otherwise sane and intelligent white christians who still believe that the universe was created in 7 days, just a few thousand years ago. The fact that this is ludicrous from a scientific point of view is not relevant to them.

People in power have very sophisticated security arrangements so I can't really see how they can be targeted.

The people in power are well defended. Hard to get at them with a low budget low tech attack.

At the heart of most religions is the belief that we should love each other and the creation/creator. Sadly control freaks use religion to control people and pervert the real meaning . That's where the problem lies.

That's where the problem lies. Yes that's in there somewhere. But let's not forget that religion was invented and developed by man for the benefit of the inventors and their acolytes. What is also at the heart of most religions is the belief that "us" as believers are superior to "them" disbelievers. In other words inherent divisiveness, just the same, just as bad and dangerous, as nationalism (or tribalism, if you like).

I think there are lots of people who believe they are more superior than others without the help of religion. As regards 'love' being in there somewhere. Over 500 times I think. Pity it's ignored by so many.

Well it's just as well most of "it" (presuming you mean the bible) is ignored by so many, otherwise we would still be stoning women to death for adultery, enacting "an eye for an eye" etc, and I wouldn't be able to enjoy a prawn cocktail.

... and I wouldn't be able to enjoy a prawn cocktail. Intrigued about why you wouldn't be able to enjoy a prawn cocktail. The bible says shellfish are not to be eaten. But thinking about it, maybe a prawn isn't a shellfish (although it does have a shell of sorts)? Alright then, I wouldn't be able to eat oysters. But that would be a good thing as they're revolting! Bang goes my argument!
