Aw it's all done in jest. I have told everyone what a sound fella you are, and if you saw the complimentary words I had for you in a PM to another Thunderboater just a few days ago, you'd blush. You told me he was a real twat ! Kris is a top fella. I met him in Leeds and he showed me around his boat. It is a historic boat and he is absolutely passionate about saving it, boating is his entire lifestyle rather than a part-time hobby. We shared a bottle and had a long chat and I would hope that we departed as friends. Yes, I do still take the piss out of his composting toilet but then people take the piss out of me because of my experience with my son in Manchester when I told him "If anyone tries to hurt you Son. I'll stab the cunt". It's just what you do on internet forums.

I have never met a woman with 'mechanical sympathy' - you need to have some interest as to how things work before you can use them skilfully, or repair/maintain them. Yes, women can drive cars (clumsily) but always wait for a man to come and help when something breaks. Men really don't give a toss about quilting or other peoples' babies. What a sheltered life you lead! I worked for loads of female engineers over the years. They were to a woman go-getting, straightforward and focussed on getting the job done, as was I. A real pleasure. And I helped a stunning blonde thirty-something lady to design and build a performance engine - she researched from scratch and was on top of it all. She probably was exceptional. Gay sadly... Well not really a 'woman' then, eh? And I bet the others you refer to had high testosterone levels and moustaches. Methinks you are the one leading the sheltered life. I've worked with 'women' bus drivers and they're the kind of females who remove beer bottle caps with their buttocks. Shudder!

Since when were bus drivers the best judge of good driving? Roger, Roger, hear you loud and clear! Bus drivers are one of the few species of animals I feel safe sitting next to as a passenger. Most car drivers scare me. I got 98% for my driving style (monthly report) - company average 89%. Rog

And so to bed. 9 hours taking photos of the bells in Gargrave's (note apostrophe used correctly) church tower today. 111 photos. Pleased with results. Details of the inscriptions. First time this has been done, so the bell ringers there tell me. Pendle visible from top of the tower. Again to the East tomorrow, we are the tortoise, John is the hare!

Yes, remind me around Aug 18th, at home that weekend. Have to transfer from camera → computer. Actually I was thinking (drum roll!)... that if some TBer could take WhatsApp messages then they could post on behalf of those who can't put photos up from their phones.
