The other thing I cannot abide, although this refers to life in general rather than just on the cut, is gingers.

Did he wave or say hello? Yes, he said hello. We've met Nick before. We've met quite a few people this trip who we know, including Jim on NB Amelia who I did the HNC and Standedge Tunnel with, and the crew of NB Fiddlesticks who we did the tidal Thames with last year. As you coming down the South GU then?

I have a few things to do in early August then I'll do one more trip this year, maybe the Caldon Canal.

We won't be back on the S Oxford until Sept, so looks like a beer will have to wait until next year.

As jenlyn suggested we think about this in another thread I thought it'd be worth asking people. What annoys you on canals? Do you like to sit on your boat looking for things to be annoyed about? Or do you think all is for the best in the best of all possible worlds? Well I've thought long and hard about it & have only come up with a couple of things really... - the trees and bushes not being cut back - over growth that we have to go under when giving up the centre of the cut which knocks over my planters and the chimney - Canada geese - I hate the bloody green sh*tting things - the bottom to close to the top in more and more places - & of course 'im at the back can be somewhat annoying at times , but we all have our crosses to bare OH - almost forgot the thing that annoys me the Most...........the flecking bites from midges & misquito's other than that all's good, peace & harmony in my little world - however there are numerous things that worry me about the canals and the way they are being managed currently.

Gullible is a more pleasant trait than cynical on the whole. Did you know that if you say the word "chicken" backwards very slowly, it sounds like "gullible"?

It will puncture and stick in your leg if you have a head on. I've often argued that the best way to encourage safe driving it to have a blade sticking out of the steering wheel. Seat belts and air bags just encourage bad driving. Untill a safe driver is hit head on by some cunt overtaking on a blind bend.
